We always get excited when it’s Seville season!! 🍊πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

We have quite a few Seville orange trees on the farm, grown using organic in practice methods.

These oranges are then made into DELICIOUS marmalade at our Cooking School / Cafe Milly & Romeo's: Artisan Bakery and Cooking School and Ethical Food Store before being sold (both as Sevilles and as treaties) at Paddlewheel!!

Sevilles aren’t as common as they used to be - but they are incredibly important and so delicious in so many ways!! πŸ™πŸ’•

Thank you Maria Stuart and Margery for rhe wonderful video! πŸŽ₯ and make sure you don’t miss out on a treaty as these are only available for a short time! 🍊

We are SERIOUSLY honoured πŸ™ and excited to be able to support the incredible work of the National Library πŸ“š in this way - so much of our cultural and agricultural heritage is revealed in these wonderful and precious books! πŸ’• We can’t wait to see them on Trove in coming years! πŸŽ‰

Thanks to the Australian Ethical Food Group (AEFG) it will soon be easier to delve into the history of Australian cooking.
The AEFG has pledged a generous gift to digitise the Library’s collection of Australian Cookery Books from the 1860s to 1960s. Filled with recipes, hints, advertisements, margin-notes and messages - these books connect us with the communities of the time, from the comfort of our own kitchens.

Looking forward to hosting two (safe!) Farmers Markets this weekend πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ’•

Hi everyone

Our Bayside Farmers Market WILL run this Saturday from 8am-1pm at Trey Bit Reserve and our Heathmont Farmers Market will run this Sunday from 8am-1pm at Great Ryrie Primary School.
⁣
⁣πŸ’₯ Please note: we have very strong COVID-19 safety measures in place, and so your attendance at our Markets is conditional on compliance with these measures πŸ’₯

Specifically:

- Only ONE shopper per a household;

- Face masks must be worn at all times;

- Mandatory QR check in (or manual) on entry AND at every Stall;

- Clock-wise walk flow only;

- We are strictly monitoring density levels and will implement β€œone in/one out” when needed;

- Please maintain social distance (ie if a stall is busy please move on and come back another time when quieter);

- No sitting allowed (on chairs or on grass) - it is SHOP & GO!

- Please follow all directions from out Market Team!!

If you are unwell or if someone close to you is unwell - PLEASE STAY HOME!! πŸ™

We understand that as much as some people will be pleased to be able to shop outside and get access to fresh produce and related food lines, others will be upset that we are trading or about the restrictions we are implementing.

Farmers Markets are a permitted essential service and are important for many people as well as for many small businesses. We are continually reviewing and improving all of our COVID-19 measures as we want our Markets to be as safe as possible for the community, for the stall holders and for our team.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Please take care and stay safe everyoneπŸ™πŸ’•

Introducing Australian Ethical Growers!!

AEG is Australia’s first Ethical Wholesaler πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ and is a key part of our Group!

AEG wishes to encourage a broader approach to sustainable agriculture than the traditional division between certified organic versus industrial farming.
