This Saturday, we’re pouring two new filter releases side by side at Seven Seeds Carlton.

Mwendi Estate AA comes from Kirinyaga, Kenya, a region we return to year after year for its bright, fruit-driven coffees. This is our first purchase from Mwendi Estate specifically, and the fully washed lot brings together Batian, SL-28, SL-34 and Ruiru, with notes of lychee, white peach and hibiscus.

Alongside it is El Limoncillo Javanica from Yasicasur, Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Also a first-year purchase for us, this naturally processed Javanica is a completely different expression: wild, complex and full of pineapple, rose water and strawberry milkshake.

Come taste both coffees, hear a little more about where they come from and chat with our roasting team about what made these lots stand out.

New Release: El Suspiro Orange Bourbon Espresso 🇳🇮

Originally from El Salvador, Orange Bourbon was introduced to Nicaragua by Alejandro and has since become one of El Suspiro’s standout varieties.

Known for its elegant floral aromas and clean, fruit-driven character, this variety also presents a unique challenge at harvest. Rather than ripening to a deep red, the cherries turn orange, making precise picking at peak ripeness even more important.

At El Suspiro, the first harvest of the season often begins on Christmas Day, marking the start of another year’s work on the farm.

New Release: Mwendi Estate AA Filter 🇰🇪

Located near Kerugoya in Kenya’s Kirinyaga region, Mwendi Wega is both an estate and washing station, processing coffee from its own farm and a collective of nearby farming families.

The region’s rich red volcanic soil supports varieties including SL-28, Ruiru 11 and Batian, grown alongside corn and banana trees.

Our highest-scoring Kenyan selection of 2026, Mwendi Estate delivers vibrant fruit, tart acidity and a refined, complex finish. This is our first year purchasing from the estate, though Kirinyaga remains a region we return to year after year.

To get to Berkeley Street in Melbourne, you can take public transport by either taking the train and getting off at Parliament Station, or taking the tram and getting off at the corner of Bourke Street and Spring Street. From there, it is a short walk to Berkeley Street.

If you prefer to drive, there are paid parking options available on Berkeley Street and neighboring streets. However, keep in mind that parking can be limited and it's best to arrive early.
