This week we have been sipping on something truly special: the Carmelita Washed from the hills of Copacabana, Caranavi, Bolivia ☕️
This coffee is grown on Finca Carmelita, a 3-hectare farm nestled at 1,550–1,650m above sea level.
Crafted with love by the incredible Carmela Aduviri, a trailblazing producer with nearly 50 years in coffee. She’s raised 8 children, nurtured her land and built a legacy of quality, resilience and care! What an incredible human ❤️

Our hero is Marie Bedabasingwa!
It is very rare to be able to get a coffee that is traceable back to a single producer in Rwanda.
One of the reasons this lot separation is possible is that Marie is a member of the Dukunde Kawa Cooperative, who own their own dry mill where they can process smaller lots individually, whilst minimising cost and maintaining excellent quality standards.
Marie is 66 years old and has worked in coffee for decades. In 1994 she was widowed during the horrific Rwandan Genocide and faced with the responsibility of caring for her five surviving children. Coffee has played a large part in her journey to rebuild her life and gain a steady income to support her family. Today, she owns 600 coffee trees and has recently planted another 50 coffee seedlings.
Marie’s coffee is processed nearby at Dukunde Kawa’s Ruli washing station. The area surrounding Ruli has mineral-rich soil and a lush environment that is well suited to specialty coffee production. Typically, farms are situated between 1,800 to 2,100 meters above sea level.

We are committed to featuring artwork that boldly communicates truths beyond the confines and restrictions of language.
For the inauguration of our cellar door, we couldn’t be prouder to feature Blaze Warrender who has been a long time inspiration.
The Ahimsa playable prayer drum 🥁
Larenne Star Spirit Mustang is a symbol of Transformation for the tribal people of the plains.
The Stallion is positioned so the hand or drumstick fall on his heart chakra rather than his face. This means that each vibration of the drum sends heart energy out into the universe to support transformation.
DM us or Blaze to purchase.
100% of the proceeds go to Project Hope Horse Rescue. $300

What people say
Disciple Coffee Roasters, located on Black Street in Melbourne, is a coffee shop that truly stands out from the rest. Not only do they serve delicious coffee, but they are also committed to featuring artwork that communicates truths beyond language. Their recent inauguration of the cellar door featured Blaze Warrender's Ahimsa playable prayer drum, which is a symbol of transformation for tribal people of the plains. The best part? 100% of the proceeds went to Project Hope Horse Rescue.
In addition to their commitment to art and social responsibility, Disciple Coffee Roasters also offers small eating options at their Cellar Door HQ location. From vegan egg Tamasabi to Bocconcini rolls with avocado, tomato, and chutney, there's something for everyone.
But let's not forget about the star of the show - their coffee! Ayele Begashaw's coffee has been a hit with customers who love both the espresso and filter versions. Ayele grows and processes his coffee on his 4-hectare farm Aricha in Ethiopia, which is named after the famed kebele (local village) of Aricha.
Overall, Disciple Coffee Roasters is a must-visit for anyone looking for great coffee and a socially responsible atmosphere.
