For many reasons, we’re happy we didn’t go that route, but we still knew we wanted to pursue our love of cooking and creating while having the flexibility to be with our kids.
Fast forward a little to starting Boxen.
Prepared meals were something that lingered in our minds, but we wanted to take a different approach than most meal service companies.
We pride ourselves on how much effort we put into each meal, from putting together our weekly menus and recipes, to preparing the meats and sauces, to plating each individual meal. For us, food isn’t just ‘fuel’, it’s something that brings us joy.
Sooo, we blended the healthy and comforting aspects of food together. We try hard to compose meals that nourish you, satisfy you, and leave you feeling good after eating them. We strive to elevate our meal service and create something that stands out from the rest.
While we are always a work in progress, we have come so far together and accomplished so much as a team. We’ve been together as a couple for 10 years, but have been working side by side for 4 years now. (HIGHLY RECOMMEND.)
Andrew is patient, hardworking, and always wants to find a way to bring any vision I have for our business to life. I have learned so much from him in the kitchen and am grateful we get to work beside each other. Yes, we bump heads (😬) but growing a business together has improved our communication skills (💫) and it really has been so fun and rewarding. I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come together.
And, while we want our service to continue to grow, we never want that growth to come at the expense of the quality of our meals. We’re always striving to be better, and honestly, I know we’re only going to continue to improve over the coming years.
We appreciate every one of our customers who have supported us along the way - even those who have since moved on - because you’ve allowed us to grow, gain confidence, and helped spread the word in ways we simply couldn’t do on our own!
