Golden Star Fish & Chips has been named Best Fish & Chips in Victoria 2026.
What a week it has been. Honestly, we were so much busier than usual and almost didn’t make it through - but we did.
A huge thank you to Lamb Weston Australia and New Zealand for this incredible recognition, and to all of our amazing regulars and new customers who came in, ordered, waited patiently, shared kind words, and supported us.
To our regulars who came in this week - we are so, so grateful for you. We’re truly sorry we made you wait longer than usual. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for continuing to support us through such a crazy week.
To our team - thank you.
You worked so incredibly hard this week to pump out more orders than ever before, and we are so proud of you. It was not an easy week at all, but everyone kept going, kept pushing, and gave it everything they had.
A big thank you as well to our suppliers, and a special thank you to Lamb Weston and Harvest Choice Chips for helping us keep everything coming in during such a huge week. Great chips make a big difference, and we’re proud to serve them as part of our traditional fish and chips.
And honestly… with almost 20 years behind us, we’re still not sure how we made it through this week 🤣
We really hope everyone enjoyed their food. And if anything wasn’t perfect during such a crazy week, we are truly sorry - please know our team gave everything we had.

Hi everyone, just a quick Easter update from us at Golden Star Fish & Chips ❤️
We’ll be open Good Friday,
3 April 2026 from 11:00am - 8:30pm.
As with previous years, please note that souvlaki items will not be available on Good Friday.
Good Friday is always one of our busiest days, so to help avoid long waits, we strongly recommend placing your order early by phone or online through our website 📞💻
Our online ordering system now sends SMS updates when your order starts cooking 🍳 and again when it’s ready ✅, so please keep an eye on your messages for order updates ❤️
Easter weekend trading hours:
Good Friday: 11:00am - 8:30pm
Easter Saturday & Sunday: 12:30pm - 8:30pm
Easter Monday: Closed
We’re also excited to share that our catering menu will be available after the Easter weekend, including fish sliders 🐟, beef sliders 🍔, fish bao buns 🥟, chicken bao buns 🍗, mini croissants 🥐, and bigger seafood packs 🦐🦑 perfect for offices and parties 🎉.
Some catering items will require 2 days’ notice.
