CUT + PASTE at Poppy Cafe & Pantry on Thursdays 10am - 2pm.
$32 for all materials, a hot drink and one of our very delicious toasties.
CUT + PASTE is about collage and card making and creating zines. Sit for an hour or two and let your creative juices flow.
You're not up for a full CUT + PASTE package? All good; we have a couple more options for you:
$10 for full access to all materials
$15 for a small hot drink and full access to all materials
KID'S PACKAGE: $20 for a kid's milkshake, a ham & cheese toastie and full access to all materials.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult | No bookings needed (yet!) | You can reserve a spot if you want to guarantee a time and day

SCHOOL HOLIDAY CRAFT CLUB at POPPY CAFE & PANTRY ✨✨
Looking for something creative (and a little sparkly) to keep the kids busy these school holidays? We are hosting a hands-on craft program filled with colour, texture and loads of imagination.
You will get to explore a range of creative activities including:

✂ Collage & Card Making
✨ Rhinestone Bling
It's the perfect chance for young makers to experiment, design, and create.
PRICING:
Junior Makers (up to 11yrs)
$20 per child for 1 day | $30 per child for 2 days | $50 per child for 3 days
** includes a kid's milkshake, a toastie and all materials for the day's program
Senior Makers (12+ yrs)
$25 per person for 1 day | $40 per person for 2 days | $60 per person for 3 days
** includes a large milkshake/small hot drink, a toastie and all materials for the day's program

FARE THEE WELL GOOD SIR.
Today we say farewell to Stirling. As happy as we are that he is off to conquer a new city, we will miss him dearly. He joined our team when Melbourne was falling apart with covid lockdowns and restrictions. He brought with him an abundance of hospitality knowledge and experience that helped bring Poppy to the next level.
His sharp wit and funny banter made our days seem all the richer. His coffee skills set us all up to face the day ahead, including some special notes in our coffees. He'd even wear the chef's hat to cook when needed. Work Dad, Work Husband, Daddy Chef, Barista, Floor Manager, Venue Manager, Social Lubricator, Social Worker, Sage Advisor, Cupid, Food & Beverage Connoisseur, Fiddler, DJ.....the list goes on. Truly a man with many strings to his bow.
Stirling in name and Stirling in character indeed. I have nothing but love and appreciation for the wonderful man that Stirling is. When I needed to take time to be with family, he looked after Poppy Cafe as if it was his own. His care and support helped me get through some really tough times. I will miss you dearly , as will the rest of the team and our extended Poppy family. Thank you for being the amazing person that you are. will be lucky to have you.
We will miss you babes. We wish only the best things for you and your gorgeous family. BIG HUGS FROM ALL IF US.

So much has been happening behind the scenes in the last 12 months or so. As you know, I have had to take some time off work to spend time with my parents. Then there was personal time needed to reconnect with Jerry & Lola.
COVID, & more recently, the increase in cost of living have brought their own challenges to running a small business. Through it all, the beautiful people who make up the Poppy team (past & present) have provided loads of support & care. Support throughout the illness of both my parents, & care for me & for the business I love so much.
To those of you who were part of the team throughout the last 6 years, I have nothing but continued love and respect for you. I am so happy that you have all gone on to other things that make you happy - but I still miss your faces! A special shout out to Melissa, Nikki, Alan and Andriana. You're always in my heart.
To Jerry and Lola for just being everything I could ever want or need. The love I have with you both is nurturing & nourishing. I couldn't be the person I am without having you both as part of my every day. I love you always & forever.
To Mum, thank you for helping to create this space. I still expect you to come through the front door & when you don't, another piece of my heart cracks. You are always loved & dearly missed.
To Chris, Susan, Kimmy, Eva, Ryan, Owen & Karina, thank you so much for everything that you bring to this space. A HUGE thank you to Stirling for keeping it all together & running Poppy Cafe in my absence. I have so much love for you all, & seeing you do your thing is just beautiful. I love how you all bring something different to your service. I love being able to share your days because you're all fabulous. I love seeing you make those around you happier for having seen/spoken to you. I love that you bring so much more than just your work practice to your shift. I just love you all.

COMING SOON - Spring specials will be available soon. We're super excited about dishes like truffle and parmesan polenta chips & plant-based burgers. My favourite though, is the protein salad with your choice of protein AND dressing. I just had the roasted pumpkin and chickpea salad with a creamy honey & mustard dressing. Chef Chris is definitely bringing it to our plates this season.

ON THE MENU
If you haven't tried our Greek Lamb Sandwich yet, you're missing out. I had it again for lunch today! 😋
The lamb shoulder is slow cooked in house and the tzatziki is super tasty too. Need it to be gluten free? No problem. We have cross contamination processes in place when cooking and preparing ingredients and we also have some great GF focaccia bread.
Available when the kitchen is cooking: Monday to Friday 7:30am - 2:30pm and Saturdays 8:30am - 2:30pm

BOOKS WANTED
If you have any biographies, autobiographies, YA or suspense/thriller novels or children's books that need a new home, then we'd love to take them off your hands and add them to the community library in store. If you need some new reading material, then come on in and see if there is something for you. You are most welcomed to BORROW, KEEP or SWAP out books as needed.
MUGS WANTED
We can't tell you how happy we are that our Mug Library has been so well received. To keep it going we are looking for any mugs/reusable cups that need to be rehomed. It kills me to say it, but we'll even take ones with Magpies/Collingwood on it🤢. We offer these mugs/reusable cups as an alternative to paper cups. As with our books, you are most welcomed to BORROW, KEEP or SWAP out mugs/reusable cups as needed.
STATIONARY
We remain a drop off point for unwanted stationary for The Pencils Project
Drop off can be made any time Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm or on Saturdays 8am - 3pm. The Pencils Project volunteers repackage used/second hand pencils, erasers, rulers, sharpeners, pencil cases & other school stationery, for children in Australia & around the world. "Helping children colour their world."
