It’s with a heavy heart that we share that from Wednesday 17th September, our time at 2 Malthouse Lane comes to an end.
Like many businesses, the aftermath of the COVID years, the shift in the CBD dining landscape, and rising costs have made it increasingly tough. After decades in hospitality, we’re also due for a well-deserved break.
But this isn’t goodbye forever. We’re already dreaming up a new concept and premises — more on that very soon.

To reach Malthouse Lane in Melbourne, you can take the train to the Flinders Street Station and then walk down Flinders Street towards Spencer Street. Turn right on Spencer Street and after walking for about 200 meters, turn left onto Malthouse Lane.
Alternatively, if you are driving, take the Kings Way exit off the M1 freeway and turn left onto Power Street. Then turn right onto City Road before turning left onto Spencer Street. Finally, take a right onto Malthouse Lane.
There is a car park available on site at The French Brasserie or you can also find nearby street parking options.
