Met this lovely couple this morning, Clark and his wife Ellen.
They were on vacation all the way from Chicago.
Initially, trying to find their way to Wally World, they soon got lost and their plans were cancelled when they discovered us. šŸ‘

Our Premier knocks on doors in Bendigo East in a feeble attempt to talk about politics, Victoria’s budget and trains ā€˜n s**t.

Tuesday, after work, I’ll knock on your door and drop off a FREE family steak pie and family apple pie to one lucky family from Coburg, Essendon, Airport West or Pascoe Vale who is need of a family feed šŸ‘.

She may run this State,
But Tuesday arvo I’ll be running Coburg’s unofficial free dinner service šŸ½ļø

Who, out there, needs a free family dinner, on us?

So Australia Federal debt has exceeded $1 trillion.

Treasurer says ā€œtough decisionsā€ were made. Economists say ā€œstructural challenges remain.ā€ Reserve Bank says ā€œuncertain outlook.ā€

I ain’t no economist, therefor not one to presumptively economise, but I’ve got a simpler plan to get us out of this mess, after watching the Federal Budget on the telly for 18 minutes.

Step 1: Everyone buys a pie from us.
Step 2: Economy fixed.

Why it works:
Australia’s debt: $1,000,000,000,000 plus.
Our pie: $6.80

ROI on pie: Immediate. Hot. No Senate inquiry required. A smile upon service.

ROI on budget: Pending. A work in progress. Check back in 4 election cycles. Bear with me.

The government prints money and calls it ā€œfiscal policy.ā€
We bake pastry and call it LUNCH.

Doing my bit for GDP.

Sincerely,
- Justin
The next federal Treasurer.

Coburg Council minutes have just been leaked:
DATE; 28th April.
(All council members in attendance.)

Council Agenda Item 1: Address the devastating undersupply of jewellery stores.

Council Agenda Item 2: Determine if The Pie Place counts as a jewellery store yet because it has shiny flakey gold encrusted pastry.

Resolution on above Agenda passed (6:04pm;
ALL pies from The Pie Place are officially now classified as ā€œedible gemstonesā€ for planning purposes.

Locals relieved. Finally we can tell tourists Coburg is famous for something other than trams and 24,263 places to resize your wedding band.

We are closing our shop this Saturday.

Ease up, just for one important special day, Anzac Day. šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ

Saturday is also, and MUCH less importantly, the Anzac Day AFL Clash, and watching the Pies absolutely demolish the Bombers wouldn’t be a ripper without a pie in your throat.

My solution.: come see us tomorrow or Friday. We’re doing a massive bake so you can stock the fridge and avoid a half-time panic run to your local servo.

Furthermore, willing to give a lucky customer 6 FREE PiES to the 1st person who picks the winning team, with correct margin, so take a wild stab and comment below šŸ‘‡
Comp ends 3pm Saturday.

Quick update.
Further to my last post, I’ll like to give a shoutout to a fair few of our customers, who, in the last week, have made other fellow customers walk away with a free feed.
They, off their on back, paid it forward. Handed over some cash for the next customer.

1st one, name unknown, and this absolutely astounded us. A bloke who bought two pies and handed over a $50 note, the next three meals were on him (this young chap, was a legend!) sorry mate, I didn’t personally serve you, but you deserve a gold star!!!

JOSHUA and his missus, who gave a $5 note and feed an elderly lady a steak pie. Champs!
BRUNO, who paid for his pie, told us to keep the change and give to the next customer. Champ # 2
GRANT and his lovely wife, handing over cash and told us to feed the next customer. Lovely couple!!

PATRICK, dropped $20 for a lady who ordered a family steak pie!
Onya!

MICHELLE, $20, she feed three young blokes who were up for a couple of pie and desserts
JIMMY, who was waiting in line, was served after a lady…while scrambling in her purse, he gave a lady $9, for her egg and bacon pie - told her to keep the change!

JULZ, who shouted a the next customer a pie, a sausage roll and a vanilla slice.

…and plenty more!

What struck me was the amount of people who, when told about customers paying for their food said ā€œI’m okay, give it to someone who needs itā€

My previous post didn’t advocate for customers to Pay it Forward, but they all felt the need to - and that, ladies and gentlemen, is a true indication of the awesome and wholesome spirit that is truely out there. šŸ¤™

This post is not about US but them, they are some awesome people who, during the s**t time, decided upon themselves to help others.

Thank you, Josh, Patrick, Bruno, Grant, Michelle, Jimmy, Julz, Rosa, Rocky, Amelia and Jacinta.

Melbournians,

Three or four times this week It’s become evident that some customers have been short of cash.
No biggie. We get it. We accommodate.

Most of us are going through a tough time lately, from the price of groceries, bills, council rates to insurance, housing and now…fuel. (All of which WILL dramatically increase in the months to come)

So if you’re short of a few bucks because old mate has ripped you a new one by surprising you with a delicious unexpected bill in the mail, or due to the fact Mr Coles and Mr Woolies have decided to increase their prices on everyday staples, therefor you’re in that position of being short of paying or struggling to pay for a pie or legitimately cannot afford lunch - I WILL help you out. Just ask.

We have three goals at The Pie Place;
To make our customers happy, your belly full, and more importantly a friendly chat - all of which we’ve prided ourselves for over four decades.

MY PROMISE.

JT.
