Fun coffee fact: latte art isn’t just for aesthetics. As baristas, pouring latte art helps us ensure that the crema remains intact, ensuring a perfectly balanced first sip. Even if the espresso and milk components are perfect, the pouring of the coffee has a significant impact on the flavour. It’s also just fun to make pretty coffees ❤️ ☕️

What people say
Contraband Coffee Traders, located in Preston Market, Melbourne, is a coffee shop that offers hand-crafted coffee selected from the finest seasonal single origins. Their coffee is batch roasted and blended to perfection, ensuring that every cup is of the highest quality.
What sets Contraband Coffee Traders apart from other coffee shops is their commitment to sustainability. They recently introduced 100% recyclable coffee packaging made from FSC certified sustainable paper and carrying the global curbside recycling standard PTS-RH 021/97. This means that no part of your next take-home coffee needs to end up in landfill.
In addition to their delicious coffee, Contraband Coffee Traders also serves up some of the finest vegan treats you'll ever wrap your face around. They even collaborated with a friend's shop in Collingwood over the Easter weekend to offer customers an unforgettable experience.
One of their most impressive offerings is their incredible coffee from the Idido Co-operative in Ethiopia. With notes of Berry Sherbet, Passiona and Chocolate, this coffee tastes exactly like a 10th birthday in the mid-90's 😍 The Idido Co-operative is a collective coffee processing facility which services small family-owned farms in the Yirgacheffee region in Ethiopia. Cherry is selectively hand-harvested by farmers before being delivered to the co-operative. The cherry is then placed in sealed bags and fermented anaerobically for 24 hours. The fermented cherry is carefully removed from the bags and placed on traditional Ethiopian drying beds and sun-dried for 21 days.
Overall, Contraband Coffee Traders offers an exceptional experience for anyone who loves great-tasting coffee and cares about sustainability.
