Friday at Mad About Beans ☕🔥
Today was all about roasting, cooling, checking, bagging, packing… and doing it all over again.
Friday = roast day.
There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing all those freshly roasted bags lined up and ready to go — especially when you know how much handwork has gone into getting them there.
Pure handwork.

We roast every Monday and Friday here in our little Geelong roastery, keeping things small-batch and fresh rather than producing mountains of coffee weeks in advance.
That’s our Goldilocks rule: not too big, not too small — just right.
Small enough that we can care about every batch.
Big enough to keep doing what we love.
Fresh enough that your coffee doesn’t have to hang around waiting for you.

Another day in the Mad About Beans roastery, doing what we love: roasting, checking, bagging, packing and getting fresh coffee ready to head out into Geelong.
There’s no conveyor belt. No mass production. Just a small family business, a small-batch roaster and plenty of hands-on work behind every bag.

Well… Saturday morning wasn’t quite what we had planned. 😂☕️
We had so many orders coming in that we simply couldn’t get everything roasted on Friday — so Saturday became an extra roasting day.
And honestly? We’re absolutely not complaining. ❤️
As a small family coffee roaster in Grovedale, Geelong, every order means a lot to us. Having enough coffee to roast that we had to come back into the roastery on Saturday is a pretty fantastic problem to have.
We roast in small batches and on demand, so your coffee is freshly roasted rather than sitting around waiting for its turn.
