BLACK GOLD has officially been named Best Café in Melbourne at the Time Out Awards 2026 — for the second year in a row.

After 9 years of early mornings, long days, consistency, passion and backing ourselves, to receive this recognition again honestly means the world to us.

What started as a passion project between a chef and a former real estate agent has grown into something so much bigger than we ever imagined — a place built around great coffee, loaded toasties, good people and a community that continues to show up for us every single day.

To our incredible team, past and present — thank you. Every person who has worked behind the machine, in the kitchen, on the floor or washed dishes played a part in this.

And to our customers — thank you for the support, the queues, the reposts, the coffees, the loyalty and for making Black Gold what it is today.

If you are traveling by public transport, you can take a train or tram to Richmond Station. From there, head east on Swan Street and turn right onto Lennox Street. The restaurant will be on your left.

If you are driving, you can park along the street or in nearby parking lots. From the CBD, head southeast on Flinders Street and turn left onto Exhibition Street. Continue straight until you reach Victoria Parade then make a right turn. Continue on this road before turning left onto Lennox Street.
