As a social enterprise, it channels all profits towards projects that benefit impoverished communities in South America, facilitated by the Social Opportunity Group. The establishment offers a unique experience for coffee enthusiasts and supports meaningful causes, with 20 cents from every cup sold contributing to these initiatives.

This afternoon, Jen will close the doors as café manager and open them tomorrow morning as the new owner, alongside their business partner Alex Zobel.

Since taking over from Ben back in 2021, Commonfolk South Yarra has flown the flag for great tasting, ethically sourced coffee here on Murphy St. We’ve had some absolute legends lead the charge, each helping build a beautiful community in the heart of South Yarra. None more so than Jen.

They’ve become part of the furniture in the best possible way; woven into the daily lives of their regulars, the team, and the neighbourhood. So when we started thinking about how could keep growing our network of like-minded folk, prioritising our farming partners, championing great tasting coffee, and working toward a fairer future for everyone in our industry, it felt only natural to pass the baton to them.

With Jen and Alex stepping into ownership, we’re more confident than ever that the spirit of Commonfolk will live on in South Yarra. For the next little while, they’ll keep trading under the Commonfolk name, before launching a brand new concept (with the same great coffee) later this year.

Jen and Alex, we couldn’t be prouder or more excited for you both.

To reach your destination at Murphy Street in South Yarra, Melbourne, you have a couple of convenient options for travel.

**Public Transport:**

1. **Train:**
- Take a train to South Yarra Station on the Sandringham Line.
- Once you arrive, exit the station and head east on Toorak Road.
- Turn left onto Murphy Street; your destination will be a short walk from there.

2. **Tram:**
- Catch Tram 8 or Tram 72 towards Malvern or Camberwell respectively.
- Get off at the stop on Toorak Road near Murphy Street.
- Walk south along Murphy Street to reach your destination.

**Driving/Parking:**

- If you're driving, head towards South Yarra via the Monash Freeway (M1) or Punt Road.
- Follow signs for Toorak Road and turn onto Murphy Street.
- There is limited street parking available in the area, so be sure to check for any parking restrictions. Alternatively, look for nearby parking garages if street parking is full.
