Wow, it's nearly been 5 years, and how I've missed you all!

For those who are new to my page, my name is Jo, and I was the co-founder of Lil's Mornington.
Following the passing of my beautiful mum, Maree, we made the difficult decision to close our Mornington Peninsula business.

Time passes so quickly. Lil's all grown up now, and I'm finally ready to get back to doing what I love most—cooking for all you wonderful humans again.

These days, we're living in the beautiful Victorian High Country, and I'm excited to share that Lil's is being reimagined as

✨ Keto in the Kountry ✨

And don't worry—I know it's a long way from Mornington to Mansfield, but I've already got that part sorted!

Many of you were part of our journey!
During COVID, Mum received a devastating terminal cancer diagnosis. Just eight months later, I lost my biggest supporter, business partner and wing woman. It was one of the hardest experiences of my life.

After closing Lil's Mornington, we pursued a family dream of living on a farm.
We made the move to the High Country in search of a simpler, more sustainable way of life.
Over the past five years, I've built a life I love, surrounded by family, community and the beauty of the High Country. We've established a thriving glasshouse, grown our own produce and filled our paddocks with plenty of four-legged family members.
But through it all, one thing has never changed—my passion for food and helping people.

Keto in the Kountry is the culmination of a lifetime spent in food, hospitality, education and caring for people.

It will be a place where my love of food, hospitality and wellness come together.

We'll be focusing on prepared meals, pantry products, wellness foods, classes and catering, with options for those looking for keto, low-carb, gluten-free and diabetic-friendly foods.

Most importantly, it will be a place where everyone feels welcome and can enjoy real food made with real ingredients and a whole lot of love.

I'm so excited to take you all on this journey as Keto in the Kountry comes to life.

It is with very mixed emotions that I announce lils legacy is coming to an end.
So many customers over our years in Main Street we are so grateful for which kept our business alive during these very trying times.
Lils was started with my beautiful mum who we sadly lost in January and named after my daughter Lil.

Mum loved her time in the cafe hosting all you beautiful people - it was her life.

Life is short and we just don’t know what’s around the corner.
With lil being a avid horse rider and a dream to live on a farm we have decided a move to the country on a gorgeous farm and fulfil her dream and take life a bit easier.

Keto has bought me a lot of satisfaction watching you all through your journeys some with such huge success and others still getting there. I have loved passing on my knowledge who the amazing Dr Lucy burns from real life medicine has instilled in me. So many of Dr Lucy Burns patients have been fed by lils over the years we are very grateful for the recommendations.

A huge heartfelt Thank-you to you all, you never know lils might just pop up somewhere in the future but for now after 30 years in the industry a good break is needed.

Thankyou to all the staff over the years but a huge Thankyou to Suzanne Surridge who is like family for all her support during mums illness and keeping the business running - and me organised 😊
