We’re half a world away, but global fossil fuel price shocks still hit our energy bills. 🤔
Australia already gets almost half its electricity from renewables. 🌞
Now’s the time for our government to double down on clean energy and prioritise renewables over gas and fossil fuels.
Let’s urge our leaders to keep backing clean energy and build a future we can actually believe in. 🌈

What a disappointing decision 🙁
The federal budget was announced, and it did not include a much-needed 25% tax on gas exports. Big Gas wins again.
Despite overwhelming pressure from everyday Aussies, grassroots organisations and politicians across the political spectrum, the government still refused to make the gas companies pay more tax. This tax could have generated approximately $17 billion in revenue to help fund essential services and provide relief in a cost of living crisis.
Let’s continue putting pressure on the government and make Big Gas pay their fair share - https://www.acf.org.au/albo-tax-big-gas-greed

Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough!
For seventy of those years, his voice has been the soundtrack of our love affair with the natural world - narrating the wonder of glaciers and rainforests, blue whales and birds of paradise, and reminding us, again and again, that this planet is worth fighting for.
He's shown us what we stand to lose. He's shown us what's still worth saving. And he's done it with grace, curiosity, and quiet, fierce conviction.
Along the way, he’s pushed governments, corporations and all of us to do better by the planet. From climate breakdown to biodiversity loss, he made it impossible to look away.
That is leadership. That is activism. And it’s a legacy worth honouring, today, and every day.

Why are we always posting about climate issues? And why don’t we just ‘stick to making ice cream?’ 🍦
Because we believe business should stand for something.
We’ve been speaking out since 1978, on climate change, social justice, refugee rights and more.
The issues shaping the world also shape the communities we’re part of. In Australia, that means focusing on climate justice.
This is not a future problem - it’s an issue affecting all of us and Australia’s unique, diverse, and fragile ecosystems. We have a platform, and we believe in using it for good/
If you’re curious, check out our website to see how we do business and the issues we care about ✌🏼❤️🍦

What would you do with $17 billion?
That’s the scale of revenue a 25% tax on gas exports could return to Australians.
Instead, those windfall profits are flowing to gas giants - boosted by global conflict and rising prices.
This is money that could go towards easing cost-of-living pressures, strengthening essential services, and investing in a better future.
And right now, there’s a rare opportunity to make it happen.
The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) is urging Australians to capture this moment and call for a 25% tax on Big Gas.

This is our chance to act — and finally get what we deserve. 🚨
As global conflict drives another energy shock, Big Gas is once again reaping huge profits, while Australians face rising costs.
The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) is urging
Australians to step up and push for a tax on gas exports — and finally get it over the
line.
We’ve missed this chance before. We can’t afford to miss it again.

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Sydney screening of Run for Country! This powerful documentary shares the story of First Nations people, runners, farmers and activists fighting to protect the Pilliga Forest from Santos’ destructive Narrabri Gas Project in north-west New South Wales

Energy bill shock? You’re not alone.
Gas prices keep climbing, and households are feeling it.
Not only that, but gas is also highly toxic to human health.
Decades of research show the alarming health impacts that gas pollution causes when used indoors.
But here’s the scoop 🍦
More than nine councils across NSW are starting to ditch gas in new buildings and go all-electric instead.
Meaning homes that are cheaper to run, better for your health, and better for the planet. 🌏
Is your council still stuck on gas, or are they switching to a cleaner, greener, electric future?
If you live in NSW, head to 350.org.au/electrify-your-council-council-tracker/ to see if your area has joined the electrification movement. ⚡
13/03/2026
Did you know you can support your local council to make sure new homes, shops and businesses are built all-electric — with no gas connections?
All-electric buildings are:
💨 Good for the climate, as less energy is needed to heat and cool electric homes and businesses.
💸 Cheaper to run = lower energy bills during a cost-of-living crunch.
🫁 Good for our health. Electric appliances like stoves and heaters don’t produce the harmful toxins and pollution that gas ones do.
Nine councils in NSW have already said yes to all-electric new builds- is your neighbourhood one of them?

A small community is taking on one of Australia's biggest fossil fuel companies. 💪
Santos wants to drill up to 850 gas wells across the Pilliga Forest in regional NSW.
An unlikely coalition of farmers, First Nations leaders, runners, families and locals is coming together to defend the Pilliga.
• The project risks groundwater that farmers and towns rely on
• It threatens sacred First Nations cultural sites
• It would lock in new fossil fuel expansion during a climate crisis
• It industrialises one of NSW’s most important inland forests
Gomeroi Elders are leading the legal challenge to protect Country.
They’re backed by grassroots groups like Lock the Gate Alliance and North West Protection Advocacy — alongside community-led organisations like For Wild Places, who host the Pilliga Ultra to raise awareness and funds to protect the forest.
This is a fight for clean water.
For culture.
For climate.

Our nature is under threat.
Fossil fuel giant Santos wants to drill 850 coal seam gas wells through Gomeroi Country in the Pilliga Forest, north-west NSW — one of eastern Australia’s last great woodlands.
The project would tear up 95,000 hectares of land, threaten our water supply, and endanger countless species — all while releasing massive carbon emissions.
But communities are fighting back.

Don’t let our Southern Ocean become a fossil fuel free‑for‑all 🌊
Right now, the Federal Government has opened 2.5 million hectares of the Southern Ocean to offshore gas drilling — new fossil fuels, in a climate crisis, drilling into the ocean’s heart.
But if enough of us speak up, the Southern Ocean can stay protected

A multinational wanted to blast 7.7 million hectares of ocean for more gas. His community said no — and won.
