Is it safe to use fresh flowers on cakes?
Yes as long as they are prepared and a safe barrier is created. between them and the cake.
❗️It is a serious food safety breach to insert 'naked' or isolated only with a floral tape stems into a cake
You can use a Safety Seal Wax or melted chocolate to coat a prepared flower before using it on a cake. Melt it before usage, dip into the wax, let it dry (20-30 seconds is enough), repeat.
❗️Always check if your flowers are safe for cake decorating. Some are are beautiful but should be avoid (Sweet Pea, Lily of the Valley, Daffodil etc). It's best to use edible and organically grown flowers.
