Still pinching ourselves because our Mohinga has been named one of Broadsheet’s Best Dishes We Ate in Melbourne in 2026 (So Far). 🤍
For many of us, mohinga is more than breakfast or the dish that represents Myanmar… it’s comfort, home and memory in a bowl. To have ours recognised this way means the world to our team 🫶
A huge thank you to Haymun and Broadsheet Melbourne for the beautiful words, and to everyone who’s shared a bowl with us. We’re glad to let you know that our mohinga is now available every day! 🤤💌

Monti Thoke is that classic old-school Burmese street food that you’ve gotta try! Rice noodle salad tossed with mohinga broth and fritters topped with fish cakes 🤤
If you can handle the heat, ask for extra chilli and a squeeze of lemon!

Winter has settled in, and we thought your meal could use a little extra warmth.
Every pot of our Jadae Akha Tea comes with unlimited refills, so you can stay out of the rain a little longer. And remember, most of our dishes come with a bowl of our chicken broth or simple radish soup, which we hope will make these rainy days feel just a little softer🫶

Some dishes become famous and make it out of the city. Others quietly stay part of the everyday life back home. Khauk Swè Thoke is one of those dishes.
You’d usually find this in tea shops, market stalls and neighbourhood kitchens across Myanmar, it’s a simple but satisfying wheat noodle salad that many of us grew up eating.
At Burmese House, we toss our noodles in an in-house tamarind and chilli sauce for a balance of sweet, sour and just enough heat, finished with homemade tohu, fresh herbs and crunchy toppings. Like most thokes, it’s served cool to warm with a side of hot soup.
