Apologies to all the customers and supporters of Wok On Bay Chinese Restaurant that we couldn't reply to all your messages sooner.
This is a heartbreaking post that we have to announce this horrible news that we have lost one of the greatest person we've met.
Unfortunately, few days ago, Tommy, the owner/chef/heart and soul of the iconic landmark of Mt Martha, Wok On Bay Chinese Restaurant, passed away due to an unexpected condition.
After announcing the temporary closing of the shop in 2022 due to his health issues, Tommy actually managed to reopen and get back to his business shortly after the announcement. However, his health had been going downhill.
We are sure it's understandable that the family wants to keep things private due to cultural preferences, therefore Tommy's funeral will be held towards family and closed friends only.
Any information regarding the restaurant will hopefully be updated soon. We appreciate your understanding and we cannot thank you enough for all of your love and care.
Tommy lived through a long journey with Mt Martha and witnessed ups and downs with all of us. Although his decease left us with huge shock and grief, we will never forget his signature laughter and great personality.
We all love Tommy so, so much, and we will always remember him as this talented, intelligent, funny, generous, warm-hearted and nice and kind person.
May he rest in peace.❤️🙏🕯️

We are sorry to announce that Wok On Bay Chinese Restaurant will not be open for next week😭
It is a tough decision for bosses to make but unfortunately Tommy is not well and has been admitted into hospital for procedures.
We are sorry about the inconvenience and hopefully we will come back very soon.

Hi everyone, due to unexpected circumstances, Wok On Bay chinese restaurant will be closed on Monday 06/06/22 unfortunately. We will also be closed on the next Monday which is public holiday. Sorry for the inconvenience. Wish everyone a safe and happy long weekend.

Hi all, unfortunately, due to the dramatically increasing number of COVID new cases, Victoria is now reimposed to Stage 3 lockdown.
Wok On Bay Chinese Restaurant is now annoucing that we are back to takeaway and delivery services only during the lockdown.
For details of delivery service, please refer to our previous posts, or dial 5974 1999 to express your concerns.
We are supporting each other in our community, please maintain social distancing, strict hygiene and stay at home.

Due to the recent relaxation of COVID-19 pandemic restriction, we are now annoucing Wok On Bay is re-open for reservation from next Friday (05/06)!!!😄
As per policy, we are now only allowed tables for 20 customers to sit in at the same time, and only 3 customers can stay nearby the counter where they wait for picking up take-aways.
All the customers in diner room are required to provide their narme and contact numbers, and certain IDs to certify their info (in case of people giving made-up numbers, these IDs could be your driver license, student card, or credit cards). We ensure you that we will maintain 100% confidentiality with your information. For those customers arrive after exceeding 20-people-capacity, we have to ask you to wait until the space becomes available or ordering take-aways instead.
For the customers who have to wait for their pick-ups, we suggest that you stay in your vehicles or the playground right in front of our take-away section. We have already provided tissue paper in case of needs, and are planning to set up hand sanitizers in our shop.
As we are re-opening for sit-in, the home dleivery service unfortunately may have to be restricted. However, if you are in quarantine and want to order our food, you are more than welcomed to dial our numbers and we will try to solve your problems.
We apologise for any inconvience and appreciate your understanding. Thank you for your time reading this long post. It is still a difficult time for us to return normal routine, but the safety of our community is the priority.
