**“I’m not gonna lie — I love getting photos from the Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks faithful rocking our gear outside Pat’s and Geno’s.**
**Now before Philly people start telling me those joints suck — yes, those places helped birth the cheesesteak. Respect where respect is due. But they were never my joint. I was always a Jim’s on South Street guy.**
**Still… seeing Sparrow’s shirts outside the giants of cheesesteak history feels just a little bit like giving the finger to the man and I’m here for it.**
**From South Philly to Melbourne Australia … the rebellion continues.

Do you ever get invited to an event and immediately think… WTF?
One of the greatest people to ever work with us is leaving Australia and heading back to some place called York 🇬🇧. Honestly, I’m pi**ed off.
Richard has been an absolute legend — hardworking, loyal, funny as hell, and one of those people who makes work better just by being there.
Now, full disclosure: his accent was so thick I only understood about 40% of what he said. The other 60% could have been football scores, recipes, or declarations of war — I’ll never know. 😂
But one thing I understood clearly: he’s a bloody awesome dude and we are going to miss him around here.
Safe travels brother. Thanks for everything. York is getting a good one back. 🍻
Ill miss you brother ❤️

Yesterday I called my old mate JK Dineen. We met back in ’89 in Minneapolis. These days he writes about bars and booze for the *San Francisco Chronicle*. Serious journalist. Serious barfly credentials. Wicked cool dude!
Our friendship started at the 400 Bar in Minneapolis — a legendary dive that hosted Bob Dylan, The Replacements, Hüsker Dü and thousands of other bands. The kind of place where the floor was sticky, the music was loud, and somehow life made perfect sense.
When I think about it, all my best friendships have been forged in booze, music, and dive bars. Just like Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks — formed during late nights at The Pinnacle in Fitzroy North, where big ideas usually arrived after midnight and common sense had already gone home.
Everything worthwhile seems to have a bit of a grungy beginning. And thankfully, so do cheesesteaks. 🍻🎸🥖

Thinly sliced steak on a flat top grill. This is where it starts. Everything else is just details.

Steak, bacon, American cheese and a house-made Bourbon BBQ sauce we're not sharing the recipe for.

The look of three people who know where to find a proper cheesesteak in Melbourne 🤙

There’s bigger cities. There’s definately cleaner cities. There’s cities where strangers don’t argue with you over parking spots and sports teams. But there’s something about Philly that gets into your blood.**
**The grit. The noise. The violence. The people who’ll roast you for your accent then help you move a couch. The rowhomes, late nights, heartbreak, cheesesteaks, and memories on every corner.**
**Lucky for Melbourne, a little piece of Philly somehow ended up here. We can’t bring you the parking tickets or sports trauma, but at Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks we can absolutely deliver the cheesesteaks.**
**Philly isn’t perfect. Neither are we. But we’re trying our best one Provolone covered sandwich at a time! ( Yes I am a Provolone guy)

USA Today finally confirmed what The Good People of Philly have been yelling at strangers in parking lots for decades… Philly is the best NFL city in America.
Honestly this explains a lot. You don’t build a city that passionate without surviving snowstorms, heartbreak, batteries, impossible expectations and sandwiches dripping down both arms.
At Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks we fully respect this decision and would like to formally thank the City of Philadelphia for teaching the world that sports, chaos and cheesesteaks are all love languages. Sparrow’s is full on and we are growing. this coming football season will be awesome!
To Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Dallas… you fought hard. But did your fans celebrate victories by climbing light poles while holding a cheesesteak? Didn’t think so. 🦅🥖🇺🇸
GO BIRDS!! This coming season there are some massive changes coming to Sparrow’s Philly Cheesesteaks! So exciting!!

What people say
Sparrow's Philly Cheesesteaks is a must-visit for anyone who loves American cuisine. This new American restaurant offers an authentic taste of Philadelphia with their world-famous sizzled beef, onion and cheese sandwich, also known as the cheesesteak. The balance of flavors and textures in their cheesesteaks is truly impressive, and the "drip" factor is just right.
What sets Sparrow's Philly Cheesesteaks apart from other restaurants is their commitment to using high-quality ingredients and traditional preparation methods. They use thinly sliced sautéed rib eye beef and melted cheese, with American and provolone being the cheese of choice. Other toppings like fried onions, sautéed mushrooms, ketchup, hot or sweet peppers are also available.
Whether you visit their restaurant at 240 St Kilda Rd in St Kilda or find their food truck all over Melbourne through Facebook, Instagram or the wherethetruck app, you're guaranteed to have a delicious meal that will transport you straight to Philadelphia. Don't miss out on this unique dining experience!
