To all our valued customers over the years we just wanted to let you know that the new owners of Tecoma Thai are ready and excited to bring their authentic Thai cuisine to Tecoma and will be opening this Sunday 15th of October from 5pm. So please head down and give them a try, I know they will be well supported from the loyal Hills and Dandenong community.

To all our valued customers,
We have a big announcement to make. After almost 6 years of bringing the taste of Thailand to Tecoma we have decided it is time to move on and start another new chapter in our lives. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tecoma and will always be indebted to the local community for their strong support of our Thai restaurant, particularly during the challenging Covid affected years. We have so many regular customers that we have become personal friends with and that is testament to the community within which we operate. Our final night of trading will be Sunday 17 September so over the next two weeks we would like to see and thank as many of our customers from over the years as possible in person so please come down and say farewell. The new owners are Thai so it will still be a Thai restaurant, called Tecoma Thai and I know they will be well supported like we have been.
So thanks to everyone for an incredible journey, we will always look back on our time in the Dandenong’s with great fondness.

On behalf of us at Sommai Thai we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and all the very best for the New Year ahead.
2022 has been a tough year for everyone coming out of Covid and with the cost of living pressures hitting hard. So tonight we want to give back to the community so that those less fortunate can have something to enjoy on Christmas Day. We have cooked around 40 dinners, filling each takeaway container with delicious Thai cuisine and donated it to the Tecoma Uniting Church food bank on Burwood Highway just opposite our restaurant. Please can you help spread the word amongst the Hills and Dandenong community so that this message reaches those in need.

It is with great excitement that we announce the grand reopening of dine in once again at Sommai Thai. We will continue to offer takeaway as normal but we are looking forward to seeing you all enjoy enjoying our company and authentic Thai food once again in house. Dear Valued Customers,
A big happy new year to you all, may it be a brighter year than 2021 for everyone. We are back open again this Wednesday, 05th of January from 5pm. However, due to the impact of Coronavirus, and in the interests of community safety we have made the difficult decision to only offer takeaway service until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to open again for dine in patrons soon. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time for everyone. 🙏🏻😊

To all our valued customers,
As 2021 draws to a close we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, may it be brighter than 2021. We thank all of you for your loyal patronage of Sommai Thai in 2021. We know many people who are doing it tough at the moment with 2021 being just as difficult a year as 2020, but we continued to see such strong support from everyone and we are very grateful indeed.
We will close the restaurant from Christmas Day and reopen on Wednesday 05 January from 5pm as we take a short break.
Please note we have made the decision to revert back to takeaway only to start the new year, no dine in. We will continually monitor the COVID situation as the year unfolds but at this time, and in the interests of everyone’s health and safety, we feel it is the right decision at this time given the new density limits coming back in coupled with the size of our restaurant.
Stay well and we look forward to bringing the taste of Thailand to Tecoma again in 2022.

To all the Hills & Dandenong Community,
We know so many of you are experiencing great hardship at the moment following the devastating weather event on Wednesday this week. With so many homes still without power and hot water we here at Sommai Thai wanted to contribute in some small way to make your lives that little bit more comfortable. So we have cooked some lovely Tom Yum soups with noodle, Massamam Beef with rice and Fried Rice with chicken and delivered them across to the Tecoma Uniting Church verandah and placed them in the fridge, so please, go and help yourself.
I hope you all get back to some normality very soon.

To get to Shop2/1567 Burwood Highway in Melbourne, you can take a train or bus to Upper Ferntree Gully Station and then transfer to the 693 bus towards Belgrave. Get off at the Burwood Hwy/Bellevue Ave stop and walk westbound for about 200 meters until you see the shop.
If driving, take Burwood Highway towards Tecoma and turn into Bellevue Avenue. There is limited street parking available near the shop, but there is also a car park behind the shops accessible from Ringwood Ave.
