A few moments from last Tuesday’s Scarf Dinner at Lankan Tucker 🧡
The Winter Scarf ‘26 trainees did a stellar job running the front-of-house, and we were lucky to have 2025 graduate Dis join us for a rockstar shift behind the bar! Huge thanks to our wonderful Scarf mentors who provided support, and to Nerissa, Hiran and the Lankan Tucker team for sending out some absolutely delicious plates.
Tomorrow night (Tuesday 18 August) is the final Winter Scarf Dinner and we’re *technically* fully booked, but doing our best to squeeze in a couple more seats. Share your details on our wait list if you’re keen to join us and we’ll see what we can do!

Modern Mehfil is the inaugural supper club by The Third Place in collaboration with Your Desi Hosts —a community dining experience created to celebrate South Asian culture through food, conversation, and connection.
Inspired by the colourful culinary traditions of Rajasthan, this intimate evening presents an three-course vegetarian menu that honours classic flavours while embracing contemporary elements . Each dish tells a story of heritage, seasonality, and the evolving identity of South Asian cuisine.
More than a dinner, Modern Mehfil is about creating a community—a space beyond home and work where our people can gather with intention. To reach the restaurant located on Albion Street in Melbourne, you can take the train and get off at the Southern Cross Station. From there, you can walk towards the east on Little Bourke Street and turn right onto Queen Street. Continue walking for a few blocks before turning left onto Franklin Street. Then, take another left onto Swanston Street and walk for a while before turning right onto Victoria Street. Finally, turn left onto Albion Street to reach your destination.
Alternatively, if you prefer to drive, you can park your vehicle in one of the nearby parking lots such as Wilson Parking or Secure Parking available along Franklin or Victoria Streets.
