Freda's

Freda's was a cozy coffee shop located on Clarke Street. The café was managed by Freda and her team for a number of years, and it became a popular spot for coffee and light bites. However, on 26th April 2023, Freda announced that she would be shutting down the café. She thanked all her regulars for their support over the years and encouraged them to visit Monty’s café in the area instead. On 29th March 2023, Freda also shared that Monty's had taken over the space, and she welcomed everyone to come in and say hi to Monty and his team. Unfortunately, this much-loved neighborhood cafe is now permanently closed.

This will be my last post on this page as I will be shutting it down. Will be at the cafe for the next two days and then I’m off to do life. Please keep supporting Monty’s they’ve had a few hiccups in the last few weeks( technical and pricing) and hopefully they have now been rectified. If there’s been something that your not happy with please go in and speak to them. Hope to see some of you in the next couple of days, once again thank you for all your support and friendship over the years Freda 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️

Great news Freda’s is now opening as Monty’s cafe and diner please come in and say hi to Monty and his wonderful team. Opening tomorrow from 8am. Can’t wait to see all my regulars as ill still be there for transition. Have missed you all Freda 🤗🤗

And just like that it’s a wrap. So much emotion and love shown to us today. It was crazy busy with lots of hugs and tears. I had no idea how many beautiful people appreciated us. Thankyou all for your cards and special gifts but most of all your kind words of appreciation. Today showed us all how wonderful community is. The last few years have taken a lot out of myself and my team and it’s with such sadness that I’m ending my café journey on the 20th December. The girls and I would like to thank you all for your support and more so friendship over the years. We’ve had many laughs and build many friendships and it definitely is a community cafe. All I ask is that you keep supporting whom ever takes over. Time to look after my health as a lot of you may know. Loved every minute of it and Thankyou Thankyou love to you all🤗❤️
