Last day. Weird feeling for us. But was so great to see so many regulars come in for one last dish (and first timers too) tonight is booked out. Farewell fitzroy. It’s been tough but grand.
Basta Fitzroy, a wine bar and Italian restaurant located on Gertrude Street, was a beloved spot known for its simple yet flavorful Italian dishes. Despite facing difficulties due to the pandemic and multiple lockdowns, the restaurant continued to serve its loyal patrons until it closed its doors forever on June 26th, 2021.

To get to Gertrude Street in Melbourne, you can take the tram number 86 and get off at the intersection of Nicholson and Gertrude Streets. Alternatively, you can take the train to Parliament Station and then walk for about 10 minutes north on Nicholson Street until you reach Gertrude Street. If you are driving, there is street parking available on Gertrude Street as well as nearby streets such as Brunswick and Smith Streets. However, please note that parking may be difficult to find during peak times.
