Last Friday, our small but mighty volunteer garden team got stuck into our small urban growing site, weeding and planting a variety of leafy greens, cabbage, parsnips, peas and herbs!
The fresh produce grown will be shared at our affordable fruit & veg market on a take-what-you-need basis, helping make fresh, healthy food more accessible for everyone.
We’re still looking for volunteers to help keep this growing space thriving as we head into spring. Can you spare a couple of hours on the first Friday of each month? No gardening experience needed.

Earlier this month, our amazing local foodie expert joined us at the market and cooked up a storm! Market-goers had the chance to taste her delicious leek & potato soup with parsnip & thyme bread, and take home the recipes.
It was such a hit that we sold out of parsnips!
If you missed out on picking up a printed copy at the market, the recipes are included in this post for you to enjoy at home.
Keep an eye out for more cooking demos at the market in the future!
