Some people leave their mark on a restaurant through a recipe. Carmela left hers in every corner of the kitchen. ❤️🇮🇹

For almost 60 years, alongside Sam, Carmela was one of the hearts behind Mamma Mia- working tirelessly, keeping the kitchen running, and protecting the flavours and traditions that generations of families have come to love.

And now, we feel incredibly lucky that she’s still here with us, sharing those long-kept kitchen secrets, teaching the little things that were never written down in a recipe book, and making sure the true taste of Mamma Mia continues exactly as it should. That kind of knowledge is priceless, and we’re so grateful that she has trusted us with it.

She has also welcomed the new chapter of Mamma Mia with so much love, treating our new owner like one of her own sons and guiding him with the same care she has given this place for all these years. ❤️

So for everyone who asked after our tribute to Sam… of course we could never forget Carmela.

Honouring a legacy. Continuing a story. 🇮🇹❤️

For almost 60 years, Mamma Mia has been more than just a pizza house - it has been a place where families have gathered, friendships have been made, and countless memories have been shared around the table.

Today, we want to take a moment to honour the incredible man who built the heart and soul of Mamma Mia, Sam😍.

For almost six decades, Sam has poured his passion, dedication, and love into creating a place that represents not only authentic Italian food, but also warmth, family, and community. His commitment and hard work have created a legacy that will always be respected and cherished.

Taking over something so special is both an honour and a responsibility. We are deeply grateful to Sam for trusting us with the Mamma Mia name and for allowing us the privilege of continuing the journey he started.

More than just passing over a business, Sam has generously shared his knowledge, his experience, and his guidance to help us understand the true meaning behind Mamma Mia. His continued support, supervision, and willingness to guide us through this new chapter means more than words can express.

We are committed to protecting everything he has built - the traditions, the quality, the passion, and the relationships he has created with the Mamma Mia family over the years.
