LOCAL ICE CREAM NOW AT THE WATTLE!

We’re now stocking Fielderberry Farm homemade ice cream, made locally just up the road

At the moment we have 4 flavours:

Vanilla
Vanilla with Raspberry Swirl
Blackberry with Blackberry Swirl
Blueberry with Chocolate Ganache Swirl

Available in a cone or cup.

We love being able to support another local business, especially when the ice cream is this good

Come in and give it a try — the hardest part is choosing which flavour!

During covid this familiar face used to pop in every Friday dressed up in some random costume,bring in a bit of fun and a lot of smiles with him.
He might not make it in every Friday dressed up any more but every now and then he still walks though our doors in full gear and we absolutely love it 

Some traditions are just too good to let go

A little piece of Cockatoo history 📖

While cleaning up around the shop, we came across these beautiful old photographs and just had to share them.

The photo featuring the old cockatoo post office is especially special to us — that building is now The Wattle Cafe
It’s amazing to look at it all those years ago and think about how many people have walked through this part of Cockatoo since.

The other photos show the old cockatoo train station , giving us a glimpse of what the town looked like when the railway was such an important part of everyday life.

We love that our little cafe is sitting in a building with its own piece of Cockatoo’s story, and finding these tucked away while cleaning felt pretty special.

Does anyone recognise anything or anyone in these photos? We’d absolutely love to hear your memories, stories or any information you might have about them.

Sometimes you find a little treasure when you least expect it.
