Week 3 done and dusted!

What a massive day on site! Machines everywhere, tools running nonstop and plenty of noise as this incredible crew got stuck into another huge day of work.

We had some new faces join our ever-growing team too, and once again, the amount these guys and girls managed to get done was incredible.

And the BIG highlight… our Arctic storage is finally here!

A huge thank you to Fred and Cas Haig from Omnitech Playgrounds for this incredibly generous donation. This Arctic store is going to make such a difference to the amount of food we can rescue, store and get back out to people who need it.

A very special thank you also to Craig Membrey and his son Jack from Membrey's Transport and Crane Hire, who brought in their crane to move the Arctic store into place. And not just any crane - they brought along the blue crane dedicated to Craig’s late son, which made having them there today even more impactful.

Outside, things are taking shape too! Repurpose It donated a truckload of beautiful topsoil AND another truckload of mulch, while Berwick Sand and Soil donated the Tuscan rock to help us create a welcoming outdoor space for our volunteers.

It’s really starting to look like the vision we had in our heads all those months ago!

One more working bee to go… stay posted!

🌸 SHE MATTERS -

I wish we could bottle the atmosphere at Transit today.

Our free pamper day for women in our community doing it tough became so much more than hair, brows, massages and pampering.

It was women uplifting women.

Women sitting together over coffee, laughing, talking, being cared for and making new connections…and, perhaps most importantly, being reminded that they matter.

There was such a beautiful warmth in the room, and that doesn't happen by accident. It happened because an incredible group of people gave their time, skills, products and hearts to make other women feel special.

Flowers: Ingrid Smit & Hollie from Ellinbank Wildflowers

Hair: Chloe, Briony & Addison from Xo Hair Co; Tanya from Salon 119; Patricia from Hair Satisfaction by Patricia; Teressa & Hayley

And then there was the army of Transit volunteers - cleaning, setting up, welcoming women through the doors, making coffees, serving, sweeping, chatting, helping wherever needed and staying behind to pack it all away. There are simply too many of you to name, but this day could not have happened without you.

We were also overwhelmed by the generosity behind the scenes, with donations from Eclipse Massage and Beauty, Endota Spa, Sukin, Chemist Discount Centre Endeavour Hills, Priceline Fountain Gate and The Body Shop Fountain Gate, along with numerous private individuals who simply wanted to bless the women who came through our doors.

Today wasn't really about pampering.

It was about dignity and connection. Creating a space where, for a few hours, every woman who walked through our doors could feel seen, valued and cared for.

That is what 'She Matters' is all about. ❤️

To every single person who made today possible - thank you.

A huge thank you to Scotty and Rod for getting our floor tiles down! You guys have hearts as big as your smiles!

These two have already put in countless hours helping us transform this shed, and once again they’ve stepped up to get another job ticked off the list.

We’re getting closer and closer to the finish line - and it’s all because of people like this who just keep showing up and giving their time.

Thanks so much guys! Together We Build.

To every single one of our volunteers, we thank you for showing up, for working incredibly hard, and for giving so much of yourselves to support people in our community doing it tough.

Transit simply could not do what we do without you.

On behalf of the Transit Board and the wider community we serve - thank you! We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you ❤️❤️
