It comes with great sadness that we announce the closure of Pachamama Brunswick. What started as an exciting adventure for Christopher and Danielle into the health food market, slowly manifested into a much bigger vision of community development around conscious consumption & sustainability. Over the years Pachamama evolved from a wholefoods grocer, into an healthy café and conscious bar/event space, with the dream of thriving community centred around strong ethics and morals.
Despite the huge challenges faced during months of pandemic lockdowns to economic uncertainty, Pachamama survived, and the conscious bar/restaurant was finally launched. But the reality of the post covid landscape and debts put huge financial strain on our young and recovering business. So we made the very difficult decision to let go and accept that trading out was just not viable.
Words can’t describe the deep gratitude and thanks we have for our customers, suppliers and extended community for your ongoing support of the Pachamama vision and believing that a healthier, sustainable & ethical future was possible. The dream will live on in the future but for now its time to say goodbye and thank you.
Love Pachamama

I’m not exactly sure what my intention is with this post but I’m feeling the need to reach out to the community and be transparent right now.
Owning a business is never easy but after miraculously surviving 2 years of lockdowns, the last 8 months has been the most challenging time of all. Chris and I have put our heart and soul, and a lot of money into this business. We’ve transformed what was once a grocery store into a space where our community can come to eat, drink, be nourished, meet friends, work, play, dance and have memorable experiences.
But the reality is that we are really feeling the financial impact of the covid aftermath. To the point that we feel like it might not be worth carrying on anymore. We want to make this work so badly that we are sacrificing our time, our health, our relationships, to see this dream through to the end.
We are bringing cheaper options to the cafe because we know spending habits have changed. We have incredibly talented djs play in our bar and don’t charge entry. We have recently made our produce more affordable. We can’t say we haven’t tried, but it honestly feels like we are in a constant battle with the powers that be.
Personally, I’m at the end of my tether. I don’t have the energy to keep fighting. I am so close to walking, and if I do, Pachamama will be no more. But I know we have a community of people out there who love and appreciate what we do. I simply want to share where I’m at, in the hopes that I’ll find the answers I’ve been looking for, to know whether it’s time to pack up, or keep fighting another day.
Whatever happens, I am so grateful for the journey and to all of those who have been a part of it along the way.
Love, Dan x

It's that time again, Melbourne. Time to supercharge our IMMUNITY! ⚡
Here are some tips on how to strengthen your immune system through the foods you eat:
• Get plenty of vitamin C from citrus fruits, tomatoes, capsicum and spinach
• Boost your gut health with fermented foods like yoghurt, kimchi and kombucha
• Eat carrots, pumpkin, squash and sweet potatoes for beta carotene (vitamin A!)
• Nuts, seeds, spinach and broccoli are a source of Vitamin E
• Zinc is another important one - found in nuts, seeds, beans and lentils
And pictured here is Pachamama's immunity box! Where we've done all the work for you 😉 Shop our organic selection in store or online (link in bio) today!
