Thi & Piccolina first worked together during Thi’s 2022 appearance in the Piccolina Gelato Project, 8 Chefs in 8 Weeks, and food lovers across the city have highly anticipated a return collaboration.
Piccolina Founder Sandra Foti says, “Lunar New Year felt like the perfect moment to collaborate again. The dessert is delicious and it honours Italian gelato tradition while celebrating the richness of Asian dessert culture.”
Chè will be available across all Piccolina stores from Tuesday 17 January to Wednesday 4 March.

Piccolina + Thi Le present Lunar New Year
We’ve joined forces with our friend Thi Le of Anchovy, to ring in the Year of the Horse with a Vietnamese-inspired dessert called Chè.
The dessert features freeze dried corn, coconut gelato, creamed corn, corn custard, toasted coconut flakes, toasted sesame.
“It’s a dessert done with corn, and in Vietnam it’s always generally paired with coconut. It just works so well. Just two ingredients, and we’re playing with textures.” says Thi, 2026 Chef of the Year. “Piccolina has this straightforward approach to gelato - very natural, the same with my cooking. Right now, we’re in the height of summer, and I think it’s the best time to eat corn, so for me it just makes so much sense to use what’s best in season right now.”

From there, catch the 624 bus going towards Kew via Auburn Station and get off at Dandenong Rd/Burke Rd bus stop. Walk a short distance to reach your destination.
Alternatively, if you plan on driving, take the Monash Freeway (M1) and exit at Burke Road. Turn left onto Burke Road and continue straight until you reach Dandenong Road. Turn right onto Dandenong Road and look for parking in the surrounding streets or in nearby car parks.
