Fighting in the First World War ended on 11 November 1918, but the need to remember those who gave their lives will never end.
More than 60,000 Australians were killed in the First World War and more than 43,000 have died in service to Australia since.
Beyond the fallen are hundreds of thousands wounded, both mentally and physically, and millions more affected by the loss of a loved one.
Remembrance Day is about remembering not only those who served in war, but also those who served in Peacekeeping Operations and those who served, and continue to serve, at home.
Today at 11 am buglers will sound The Last Post on intersections throughout the Melbourne CBD. We ask that all Victorians pause for a moments silence to say thank you.

If you plan on taking public transport, take the train to Bell Railway Station and then walk down Bell Street for a few minutes until you reach the venue. Alternatively, you can board a bus that goes along Bell Street and get off at the nearest stop to the social club.
If you are driving, take Bell Street and look out for the sign indicating the location of the social club. There is sufficient street parking available near the venue.
