To commemorate World Ocean Day and Ocean Awareness Month at Novotel, the Melbourne Novotel teams gathered together with the 3207 Beach Patrol and Love our Street community to clean New Beach in Port Melbourne.
What a wonderful effort by our fellow Novotel Heartists to support our local community in a cause close to our hearts and to remind ourselves that even 'small actions on land = big waves of change for the ocean'.
12kgs of rubbish collected that will not go in our oceans.

To mark World Ocean Day on June 8th and our partnership with WWF we welcome all our guests to unite together to protect and restore our blue planet!
The ocean is the world’s biggest carbon sink and greatest source of planetary balance. It regulates the climate, provides for the livelihood of 3.5bn people, nearly half the world’s population, and protects habitats and wildlife. However, today there is a deep imbalance in the way the world treats the ocean, as it is currently challenged by overfishing, habitat destruction, pollution, and insufficient sustainable investment.
Throughout the month we will highlight our initiatives, raise awareness and share some educational and fun things we are doing to protect our oceans and celebrate World Ocean Day.
