A massive turn out this morning for the walk to farewell John Reid from the Walking Team. Everyone was absolutely thrilled to have his family join us as well! 🖤🥹

Today we share the sad news of John Reid’s passing.

John had the idea for the Frank’s Walking Team and embodied the ideals of community spirit. Our thoughts are with Julie, Richard and the whole family.

He was a wonderful, wonderful man and we feel very fortunate to have known him.

On ya, John. Take care old boy. 🖤🫡

Cold weather sucks….
This week’s interest rate rise sucks…
The sequel to the action/thriller 1991 cinematic masterpiece “Point Break” not only sucked, but was completely unnecessary….

But you know what doesn’t suck and is necessary?!

Sorry for the traffic interruption this morning on Cavanagh St, but have just craned in and completed the final part of the Cavanagh Street Shopping Centre upgrade with this sculpture by a local up and coming artist.

Whilst it’s not the outdoor tables and chairs we were hoping for, we appreciate art and culture and Kingston’s overall efforts in upgrading the strip.

It is concerning, however, that the piece came in at 3 x the cost of the entire rest of the development, but I suppose you can’t put a price on art, and if nothing else, it’ll draw some attention. 👀

Let us know what you think in the comments.

⚠️ TUESDAY SPECIAL ⚠️ $8 Mini Schnitty… 🥵

In an effort to provide the good people of Cheltenham with some value, we bring you a soft, white mini bap roll, toasted on the inside with dill mayo, finely chopped iceberg, melted American cheese and a mini chicken schnitty for eight bucks.

We’re only running limited numbers to see how it goes, so when they’re sold out, they’re sold out.

✌️🖤🫡

Thanks so much to everyone that came past today for our $2 coffee special! The vibes were good!! This was simply our way of trying to support a community that supports us CONSTANTLY.

This economy is in the bin 🚮 and like all of you, we and all other small hospitality venues (and their often forgotten about suppliers) are also feeling it. Personally, I’ve never worked harder for less, and it’s a story I’m hearing from people daily. But this isn’t a sob story… this is an appreciation post, because it’s absolutely not lost on us the significance of customers choosing to spend their increasingly depleted discretionary money at a little cafe in the back streets of Cheltenham. 🥹 Although we may not see a lot of you as often as we used to, we’re incredibly grateful to see you at all, appreciate your custom and thank you for choosing Frank’s.

There are SOOOO many good operators near us too, so make sure you share the love - have done it well for a long time, .deli and absolutely CRUSH the toasted treats game, .deli - the is a Beaumaris’s best coffee in my opinion, is SO underrated as is and as far as casual dining excellence goes. And they’re just the ones that come to mind.

It’s tough out there, but you’re tougher!

Hope you all enjoyed my self indulgent motivational speech and my significantly below average graphic design skills.

What people say

Frank's is a charming café and restaurant located on Cavanagh Street in Cheltenham. This friendly neighbourhood spot is open seven days a week, serving up delicious breakfast and lunch options that are sure to satisfy any craving. The staff at Frank's are always welcoming and attentive, making every visit feel like a special occasion.

While the recent loss of former Chef Mark Horan has been felt deeply by the Frank's community, his legacy lives on through the incredible dishes he helped create during his time at the restaurant. Chef Mark brought a wealth of international culinary experience to the kitchen, and his work ethic was an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of working with him.

Despite this difficult time, Frank's continues to thrive thanks to its dedicated team of staff members. On Mother's Day, they pulled off their biggest day ever with ease, thanks in no small part to the hard work and patience of everyone involved. And even on ANZAC Day, when many businesses choose to close out of respect for our service men and women, Frank's opened its doors for takeaway coffee - a testament to their commitment to serving their community.

Overall, Frank's is a wonderful place to grab a bite or enjoy a leisurely meal with friends or family. With its warm atmosphere and delicious food options, it's no wonder that this café/restaurant has become such a beloved fixture in Cheltenham.
