This month on the Little Local Art Wall, we’re featuring the work of artist Mary Van Gils. Through surreal figures and dreamlike settings, Mary explores themes of identity, isolation and human connection — inviting viewers to find their own meaning within each piece.
Originally from Canada and now based in Melbourne’s inner north, Mary’s work is deeply shaped by her personal experiences and evolving journey as an artist.

It won’t be the same around the cafe without these two.
This week we bid farewell to the beloved Charlotte and Ruby! Both of them spent over two years behind the coffee machine and now it’s time for new adventures! Charlotte is about to embark on a 3 month long European journey, we hope you have the most amazing time and hope this next chapter is filled with incredible places and nothing but fun times. And to our future architect, Ruby has secured a full time job in an architecture firm after years of hard work and study, there’s no doubt she will do incredible things on this new path!
Thank you both for the countless coffees, chaos, and infectious energy. We wish you nothing but success and exciting adventures ahead. Don’t be strangers, the cafe door is always open 🤍

This week, we bid farewell to one of our beloved baristas, Tahlia!! Tahlia has worked at Little Local for multiple years and is now trading in coffee cups for case files, starting a very exciting new journey at a law firm, and we couldn’t be more excited for her. Thank you for all the early mornings, laughs and smiles. We are going to miss your face around the cafe, but we know you’re going to kill it in the corporate world!!

We have teamed up with and to help raise awareness of various social causes and issues with the aim this month to help highlight awareness within the community of su***de prevention.
For the next few days our compostable take away coffee cups will feature a QR code which will take you where you can find more information on su***de prevention and make a donation if you wish.
