NEW COFFEE | Burundi - Gahahe - Red Bourbon - Natural

This lot comes from the Gahahe washing station in Kayanza, where nearly 900 smallholder farmers deliver carefully hand-picked cherries. At over 1,800 meters above sea level, ideal growing conditions and meticulous natural processing create a cup that is both vibrant and deeply sweet.

Expect notes of stewed apple and cranberry, with sour candy and sultana sweetness and notes of lemongrass and lime. It’s a coffee that reflects both the land and the people behind it, clean, expressive, and full of character.

Every sip tells the story of craftsmanship, community, and the rising excellence of Burundian coffee.

It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of our colleague and good friend, Ben Toovey.

Ben was a valued part of the Genovese business and family for 17 years. He started with us casually, helping out with deliveries, and quickly developed a passion for coffee. Over the years, he played a key role in establishing and leading our Specialty Division, eventually becoming our Head Roaster.

Ben’s achievements within the coffee industry were inspiring to witness. Among them was placing first in the 2018 Australian Coffee Roasting Championships - an accomplishment of which he, and all of us were incredibly proud. These accolades were a true reflection of his work ethic, dedication and love of coffee.

Ben was a humble and kind person, a perfectionist in many ways, a thoughtful listener and a loyal friend. He was a big part of our Genovese family and he will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Ben.

NEW COFFEE | Following the release of last years natural, we’re excited to introuce the washed version of this coffee from the Colbram Family’s

In the cup, this coffee tastes more like a washed African than anything from PNG. Thanks to high altitude growing conditions, the acidity is refined and complex and the fragrance really packs a punch. Just like all +1,700 masl washed coffees, to get the most out of these beans you’ll want to be aggressive when brewing. Start with a finer than usual grind setting to find the sweet spot and adjust from there to highlight acidity.

Tasting notes: Soft and fragrant, with notes of cola and dried fig, sugarcane sweetness and a refreshing lime finish.

When it comes to making the perfect coffee, the milk you choose is pretty essential. As part of our one-stop-coffee-shop we have a curated selection of alternative milks that are available to wholesale and retail customers. We love both and 💛 and believe these milks do the best job of complimenting our coffee range.

Get in touch if you’d like to add Soy, Oat or Almond milk to your next coffee delivery!

NEW SUMMER COFFEE | Halo Beriti is a stunning Grade 1 washed coffee from the Yirgacheffe region, the crown jewel of coffee production in Ethiopia. This coffee is bright, clean and elegant, with notes of dried cranberry, lemongrass and sugarcane, plus delicate florals and a lime like acidity.

We love it as a chilled filter or cold brew, perfect treat for summer. We recommend a 1:16 ratio for 12-15 hours, before straining and serving over ice. Add a slice of lime and some elderflower syrup if you’re feeling fancy! 🍋‍🟩🌺
