Pan de Mu**to is a homemade bread that is very popular in Mexico. It is traditionally made in October and November to celebrate the festivities related to the day of the dead (or Día de los mu***os in Spanish).

You can decorate it and make it in different ways, but it should always have a base flavour of orange, which gives it a great taste!

Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and generally sweet! Oh my God, perhaps Buñuelos are the most delicious snack made of yucca.

They’re not as common as they used to be, though. Grandmas are the ones who usually cook this for the family, but you can still see them around Easter and Christmas.

The explosion of flavours in your mouth is unique when the sweet honey sticks to your palate, but then the salty cheese gives incredible contrast to the sweetness.

Living in the spirit of hot summer days, I want to share a popular drink that reminds me of hot sunny days in my hometown.

Papelon con Limon is a popular drink in Venezuela and other Latin American countries, although the name varies. In Colombia is known as Aguapanela.

This refreshing drink combines the tartness of limes with the sweetness of lemons. It is sweet, refreshing, and simply delightful. There is no better alternative to spend a hot afternoon than sitting on my deck with a tall glass of Papelon con Limon!

Cachapas are another Venezuelan culinary gem that works great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

They are sweet, soft, and hearty pancakes made out of a thick batter of fresh corn. Generally, cachapas are served folded in half and filled with fresh cheese, or even better Queso de Mano.

However, you can eat them with many other options, including, shredded beef, chicken, pork, or ham. Just add a bit of butter on top of your cachapa and get ready to have some Venezuelan deliciousness at every bite.

Quesillo is, perhaps, the best Venezuelan dessert— or at least it is a strong competitor.

It is so creamy that you could almost feel it melting in your mouth after every bite!

The Venezuelan quesillo is quite similar to Spanish flan de huevo, and it basically uses the same ingredients. We just add a bit of rum or brandy for an extra layer of flavour.
