When we think of Mexican food, we think of fun and the fun is in sharing and creating a bit of a mess!
Our Chile con Queso nachos aren't traditionally Mexican but more of an Americanised Mexican dish. The nachos aren't baked but drizzled with chile con queso (a molten cheese sauce).
This is one of our signature dishes

Jenna here, co-owner of Mission District. Here to tell you about my favourite margarita, the Mezcal Tamarindo.
I would always prefer to drink a mezcal marg over a regular marg. I just love the smokiness that mezcal brings. And tamarind, is a flavour I love, but one that I find really hard to describe. It's a tropical fruit that has both a sweet and sour flavour, but also kinda earthy and tangy. In Mexico you can order a tamarind agua fresca by the litre! I love it.
So next time you go to order a classic margarita, maybe be adventurous and try something different that we love!

Mission District is a Californian inspired Mexican restaurant located on Glen Eira Road in Melbourne. The restaurant offers bookings, walk-ins, and takeaway options for its customers. The head chef of Mission District recently went on a food research trip to San Francisco, where she visited some of the most popular Mexican restaurants in the Mission District, including La Taqueria. She returned with many ideas that have been incorporated into the menu at Mission District.
The restaurant also takes pride in using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Recently, they spent a morning foraging mushrooms in Mount Macedon and featured them in a delicious feast. They also cater to those with dietary restrictions and have options for coeliac disease sufferers.
Mission District has a cozy atmosphere perfect for a night out with friends or family. They offer sharing plates such as tacos that are perfect for groups. Overall, Mission District is an excellent choice for anyone looking for delicious Mexican cuisine with Californian inspiration in Melbourne.
