🎤🌧️ Guess who’s happy that I’m back from my mini break? 🌧️🎤
That’s right — Maggie! She might not be partying tonight, but she’s definitely pleased to have me back behind the bar. 🍻
And despite the weather doing its best to keep everyone indoors, we’ve got plenty happening at the Black Sheep tonight.
🤣 Stand-Up Comedy kicks off from 8:00pm, with a cracking lineup ready to deliver plenty of laughs.
So if you’re brave enough to venture out through the rain, come and join us for a drink, a laugh, and a great night with good company.
🍺 I’m back behind the bar.
🎤 Comedy starts at 8pm.
🐑 The Black Sheep is open and ready.
We’d love to see you tonight!

Luke’s gone back to his roots… but only for a few days. 🌾🍻
After a well-earned break visiting family in his hometown of Dookie, Luke has returned to where he truly belongs — behind the bar at the Black Sheep.
Now, don’t get us wrong… Dookie is a beautiful part of the world. Wide open spaces, country sunsets, and enough wheat fields to make a baker emotional. But after a few days away, even Luke had to admit there’s something missing…
Cold beers, great company, and the organised chaos of the Black Sheep. 🐑
So if you’ve been wondering where our resident country boy disappeared to, he’s back on deck and ready to pour your favourite drink, tell a few stories, and remind everyone that while you can take the boy out of Dookie, you can’t take Dookie out of the boy.
Pop in and say g’day to Luke this week!

My talented friend Ruby has taken a photo of Maggie, .my.black.lab , and turned it into a sticker—and honestly, it’s way better than it has any right to be.
As a dog-friendly bar, we get to meet a lot of good boys and girls every week, and it got me thinking…
If you could turn your dog into a custom sticker like this, would you?
We’re testing the waters on a small run of personalised dog stickers—perfect for drink bottles, toolboxes, laptops, or just sticking on anything you want to make a bit more “you”.
Would love to know:
• Would you buy one?
• How much would you expect to pay for a custom design like this?
• And most importantly… who’s your dog and what makes them iconic?
Tag a dog owner who’d be into this.

Two fresh taps just landed from our mates at Wild Things Brewing — and they’ve absolutely nailed it again.
First up, their ESB. Proper old-school English style with a smooth malt backbone, subtle caramel notes, and just enough bitterness to keep things honest. Easy drinking, full of character, and exactly what you want when you’re settling in for a proper pint.
Then there’s the New Zealand Nectaron XPA — bright, juicy, and bursting with tropical fruit. Think pineapple, passionfruit, and citrus all jumping out of the glass. It’s fresh, punchy, and ridiculously moreish.
Tian and Max have done an awesome job with these — seriously good beers from seriously good people.
Get in and give them a crack while they’re pouring 🍻

Fresh taps pouring right now 🍻
We’ve got a cracking lineup behind the bar this week:
🍺 Port Phillip Pale Ale (4.6%)
Easy-drinking and super balanced. Light malt backbone with subtle citrus and floral hop notes. Clean, crisp finish that keeps you coming back for another.
🍺 Port Phillip Pilsner (4.6%)
Classic and refreshing. Bright, clean lager profile with a gentle bitterness and a smooth, dry finish. Perfect knock-off beer.
🍺 Hop Nation Melbourne Black
Dark but dangerously drinkable. Roasty malt flavours with hints of chocolate and coffee, balanced by a clean, crisp finish. Not as heavy as it looks.
🍺 Bridge Road Beechworth Pale Ale (4.8%)
A true Aussie favourite. Bright hop aroma with stone fruit and citrus, backed by a smooth malt body. Fresh, punchy and super sessionable.
Something for everyone — whether you’re chasing crisp, hoppy or dark and smooth.
Come visit and explore the other 5 beer options. While you’re here grab a pint 🍺

Not everything we do is about what’s in the glass… sometimes it’s about what we can give back. ❤️
When we’re not behind the bar, we’re proud to volunteer with Aspect Autism Spectrum Australia — an incredible organisation doing meaningful work in our community.
What makes it even more special is having the support of our mate Jean-Christophe Novelli. Between his time on MasterChef Australia, he’s taken time out to run a fundraiser here at the Black Sheep and has come in to share his skills with participants, teaching them how to cook and build confidence in the kitchen.
Genuinely one of the kindest, most generous people you’ll meet — and we’re stoked to call him a friend.
This is what community is all about. 🍻

Alright… we might be bending the rules just a little on our “Victorian independent only” taps 🍻
Say hello to Status Quo Pale Ale from . — brewed down here in VIC and still proudly independent.
This one’s no stranger to hype either… consistently ranking at the very top of the GABS Hottest 100 for the past few years, and for good reason.
Tasting notes:
Bright, juicy and ridiculously easy to drink. Expect big tropical hits of passionfruit, mango and citrus, backed up by a soft malt body and a clean, crisp finish. It’s balanced, fresh, and dangerously sessionable at 5.2%.
The rundown:
Originally brewed in the Blue Mountains, Status Quo has become a modern Aussie classic — a pale ale that bridges the gap between full-on hazy IPAs and your everyday crusher. Smooth, flavour-packed, and crowd-approved.
On tap now. Come see what all the fuss is about 👇

You never know what’s going to happen on a night at the bar…
After Wes wrapped up, one of our regulars jumped up for an impromptu set — and absolutely blew us away. 🎤🔥
No warning, no fuss… just pure talent. What a voice. What a moment.
Safe to say we’ll be trying to lock her in for her own gig very soon 👀
Were you here to catch it? Let us know what you thought 👇

New on the lineup: Millennium Falcon Imperial IPA from Holgate Brewhouse 🚀

Pair it with a bit of John Williams in the background and you’ve got yourself a proper vibe.

If you’re in come on down and enjoy some free live music.
Ask for a “complimentary” pizza and we will give you one of those as well.

Bit of a rough one this week—managed to do myself a mischief on Thursday and ended up with stitches in the eyebrow 🤦♂️
Copped a decent migraine off the back of it, so unfortunately we won’t be opening the bar today. Health comes first.
Fingers crossed we’re back up and running tomorrow 🤞
If not, have an unreal Easter—hope the kids score plenty of eggs and everyone gets some good time with family.

7–9 beers pouring 🍺 (including a smooth nitro tap + a proper hand pump)
Records on standby — feel free to dig through and throw one on 🎶

Nine taps pouring and we’re raising the bar 🍺
Fresh Irish Red Ale on the hand pump, all from — smooth, balanced and proper pub drinking. Think rich malt, notes of caramel and toffee, a touch of roasted grain and a clean, dry finish that keeps you coming back for another.
Pouring alongside a silky nitro stout for those who like it dark and creamy.
If your local’s not running a hand pump or nitro… you’ve got to ask why.
This one won’t hang around. Get in.
