đș A FEW NEW BEERS HAVE LANDED⊠INCLUDING ONE THAT HASNâT ACTUALLY LANDED YET. đ
Got lucky on the delivery run this week and managed to sneak in something a little earlyâŠ
âïž Bojak Brewing â Sunray Haze
A 4.5% hazy Pacific Ale that isnât officially released until next week. We were lucky enough to get some early, so you can try it at the Black Sheep before the official release.
Also joining the fridge:
đ» Banks Brewing â Practice Beer
5.2% Hazy Pale Ale. Soft, juicy and very easy drinking.
đ« Banks Brewing â Thatâs Grand
12% Barrel Aged Imperial Pastry Stout, conditioned for 3 years in maple whiskey barrels. An absolute weapon.
đ„ Hargreaves Hill â Babooshka Vanilla Milk Stout
6% Vanilla Milk Stout. Rich, creamy, roasty and loaded with vanilla.
Four cracking Victorian beers â from an easy 4.5% Pacific Ale right through to a ridiculous 12% barrel-aged stout.
And if you want to get your hands on Sunray before everyone else, weâve got it now. âïžđș
100% Victorian. 100% independent. Always. đ

đș TWO NEW BEERS ON TAP TODAY đș
A couple of absolute crackers have just landed at The Black Sheep.
đŽ Sub Tropical Hazy IPA â 7.1%
A collab between Bridge Road Brewers x Good Land Brewing Co. Juicy, hazy, tropical and packing plenty of flavour. At 7.1%, itâs got a little bit of sneaky about it too. đ
đ« Holgate Temptress Chocolate Porter â 6.0%
And this one gets the hand pump treatment. Rich, smooth, chocolatey porter from Holgate, served the old-school way. If youâve never had a beer off a hand pump, this is a bloody good place to start.
Two very different beers.
Two very good reasons to pop in for a pint.
Hazy & tropical or dark & chocolatey â which way are you going?
Independent Victorian beer. Always. đđș

đ€ COMEDY KICKS OFF IN 15 MINUTES! đ€
Look whoâs rolled into The Black Sheep Hawthorn tonight⊠the very bloody funny Oliver Hunter.
And before anyone sends me an angry DM â I asked Oliver personally if I could say this:
âż Heâs WHEELY good. đ
Oliverâs been doing comedy for more than a decade, has performed around Australia and in the US, appeared on Dylan Alcottâs ListenAble podcast, and this year brought Itâs All Good to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Heâs also a disability advocate, consultant, keynote speaker and podcast host. (Melbourne International Comedy Festivalâ ïżŒ)
His own style probably sums him up best: loveable, laconic, a little dark, and very happy to take the p**s out of life in a wheelchair. (The Wheeler Centreâ ïżŒ)
And tonight heâs doing it right here at the Sheep.

Late-night treat for Maggie and me đđ°
I wanted something sweet. Maggie just wanted a walk. So we compromised⊠and both got exactly what we wanted. đ
Tonightâs destination: Siora for a tiramisu. A little late-night wander through Auburn Village, dessert for me, extra sniffing time for Maggie. Win-win.
If youâre around Hawthorn and looking for a late-night sweet fix, check these guys out. Great to have another local spot doing its thing in the Village.
Support local. Eat local. Drink local. Walk the dog. Buy the tiramisu. đ€đ

Two crowd favourites are back on tap! đ»
If youâve been waiting for these, todayâs your day.
đș Bridge Road Beechworth Pale Ale â one of Australiaâs true craft beer classics. Crisp, balanced and ridiculously easy to drink.
đș Bojak Calypso Hazy IPA â juicy, tropical and packed with hop character. If hazies are your thing, this one is hard to beat.
The best part? Both beers ranked in the GABS Hottest 100 last year, so theyâve already got plenty of fans.
And if you needed another excuse to head downâŠ
đ¶ Live music kicks off in the front bar tonight. We do have a function happening, but the venue is still open to everyone, so come in, grab a pint, find a spot and enjoy the tunes.
See you at the bar! đș

đș $10 Pints Until Itâs Gone! đș
Everyone loves a cheap pint⊠but this oneâs worth coming in for regardless.
Pouring now is Holgate Traditional ESB on draught â a classic English-style Extra Special Bitter thatâs packed with flavour. Expect rich caramel and toasted biscuit malt, subtle toffee sweetness, a gentle earthy hop bitterness, and a smooth, balanced finish that makes it incredibly easy to drink.
Weâve got some exciting beers arriving this weekend, so we need to clear this keg to make room.
đș Holgate Traditional ESB â just $10 a pint until the keg kicks!
If youâre after a quality beer, come on down.
If youâre after a cheap beer, come on down.
If youâre after both⊠well, you know where to find us.

One of the rarest beer experiences in Melbourne⊠đș
Did you know The Black Sheep Hawthorn has a traditional hand pump?
Itâs not something youâll find in many bars around Melbourne. In fact, hand pumps have become a bit of a hidden treasure for beer lovers, with only a handful of venues still pouring beer this way.
Currently on the handle:
đș Wild Things Brewing Co. ESB
So whatâs the big deal?
A hand pump doesnât force beer through with COâ like a standard tap. Instead, itâs gently pulled from the cellar, creating a softer mouthfeel, lower carbonation, and allowing the malt, caramel and biscuit flavours to really come alive. Itâs a slower, more traditional way of serving beerâand thatâs exactly the point.
Think:
đ„ A crackling open fire.
đïž A worn leather armchair.
đș A cosy British pub where good conversation is just as important as whatâs in your glass.
If youâve never tried a hand-pulled ale before, this is your chance. Itâs not just another pintâitâs a completely different beer experience.
Come in, pull up a chair, and discover why real ale has been enjoyed this way for centuries.
