This Mother’s Day marks Sarann’s 5th Mother’s Day at Kampot Kitchen 💐
Built with love, sacrifice, and so much heart — not just for the community, but for her own family too 💚
To her, Kampot Kitchen has always been more than just a café… it’s one of her babies too 🥹
And every year, her family surprises her with flowers in hand — and she couldn’t be happier spending the day with the people and the place she loves most 🥰
Nothing brings her more joy than watching families come together around the table, sharing a meal just like home. 🫶🏼✨

On the eve of our 5-year anniversary, we were deeply touched by a special visit from Mony who gifted us two of her beautiful artworks, the perfect addition to our space. 💚
The first piece captures the heart of Khmer cuisine, illustrating the fundamental dishes we all know and love, a meaningful celebration of our culture and the food that brings us together.
The second tells the timeless love story of Khmer “Ream Keh,” rich in tradition, meaning, and heritage.
We feel incredibly grateful for such a thoughtful and personal gift. Thank you, Mony, for sharing your talent and your heart with us. 🫶🏼✨

As Cambodian New Year begins, we welcome the arrival of the new Tevada, the guardian angel of the year, who descends from the heavens to watch over us.
Wishing our family and friends a year filled with love, happiness, and abundant prosperity. May the year ahead bring you good health, beautiful moments, and endless blessings. ✨🙏🏼
Happy Khmer New Year 🇰🇭✨🙏🏼

As Cambodian New Year approaches, we want to share a very personal and meaningful part of our culture here at Kampot Kitchen. 🇰🇭✨
On the eve of our 5-year birthday, Sarann held a traditional blessing ceremony—something deeply rooted in Cambodian culture and close to her heart.
Monks were invited into the space to chant sacred blessings, calling in peace, protection, and prosperity for Kampot Kitchen, the team, and everyone who walks through our doors. Holy water was gently sprinkled as part of the ritual, a symbolic act of cleansing and renewal for the year ahead.
Alongside this, Sarann also held the Robam Junpor blessing dance—a traditional performance that carries its own spiritual significance. The dance is a way of offering blessings to the space and to those present, bringing positive energy, harmony, and good fortune.
This wasn’t just a ceremony—it was a moment of grounding, gratitude, and intention. A way to honour where we come from, and to carry those traditions forward into what we’re building here.
Sarann holds her culture close, and sharing this with our community means everything. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 💚🙏🏼

It’s been two weeks since our 5 year birthday celebrations and with Cambodian New Year on this weekend, we’re having some beautiful moments of reflection.
Thank you to our incredible community that showed up and beautiful team that worked so hard.
We love sharing Cambodian culture with you all so much and couldn’t be more grateful for the conversations, shared meals and special moments.
Cambodia will always be home but, at the same time, Melbourne and the love we’ve received over 5 years feels just like home to us too.
Big thank you to Zein for this video 💚
See you soon
