A few new faces, a few familiar favourites.

Book a table and see the full new menu via our website.

It’s time to grab a seat in the bar.

Maybe it’s tinned fish, because you know exactly what you want. Maybe it’s parfait, because you came in for one drink and suddenly the table needs something rich, savoury and very spreadable. Or maybe it’s a single Bloody Mary, because the day has called for one (and we are not here to argue with instinct).

Our bar snacks are here for the in-between hours. Before dinner. After work. During aperitivo. Late enough that you should probably eat something, but early enough that the night still has options.

Find a seat at the bar for snacks, signature cocktails, local and international wines, and the very easy pleasure of letting Flinders Lane happen around you.

Sky high stack 🍳

Our Benedict is big in the best possible way. The potato hash bring the crunch. The eggs do what poached eggs should. The béarnaise makes the whole thing feel just a little more luxurious than your average plate.

Breakfast is served at Elio’s Place from 8am, 7 days.

We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming into Elio’s a few times now, and it always brings the kind of energy we love in the room.

People arriving in twos and threes. Tables filling properly. Drinks landing. Plates being passed. The low hum that happens when a group settles in and lets the night take its time.

It’s what our back room, The Blue Room, was made for.

The Blue Room is available for functions, private dining and group bookings at Elio’s Place. Long lunches. Team dinners. Birthdays. Family gatherings. A table for the people you’ve been meaning to get together, with food, drinks and the hosting taken care of.

Enquire about The Blue Room via our website.

A brief note on our beloved Kaiserschmarrn.

It is, technically, a scrambled pancake. It is also much more charming than that description gives it credit for.

Ours comes with blueberries and yoghurt. Perfectly textural, and slightly unruly in the way the best breakfast dishes often are. It sits somewhere between a pancake, a dessert and the thing you order “for the table” before quietly taking most of it for yourself.

Best with espresso. Very good with orange juice. Excellent with no rush whatsoever.

Burrata, burrata, burrata!

It seems to be a love affair that never dies, and we love that for you (and us). This is truly a staple of Melbourne dining, and ours is served with house made, aromatic chilli oil and charred onions. Best eaten alongside a hearty slice of our focaccia.

Winner, winner chicken (lunch or) dinner.

Chicken schnitzel, crisp and golden, with kohlrabi and cabbage remoulade doing the important work of keeping things bright. It’s generous without being heavy. Familiar without feeling plain. The kind of bistro main that makes sense at midday with sparkling water, at dinner with a local glass of Chardonnay, or anywhere in between when the craving for something crisp takes over.

Now at Elio’s Place, Melbourne’s all-day bistro and bar on Flinders Lane.

Folded eggs, dressed greens, and an icy glass of OJ.

A plate for the city worker who has 30 minutes and wants something proper. A plate for the person who has nowhere to be and would like to sit by the window with an espresso.

Mother’s Day at Elio’s Place 🌹

For Mother’s Day, we’re making a very good case for a long lunch, an intimate dinner, or a Sunday drink on Flinders Lane.

On the menu: mafaldine made in house with swimmer crab, bottarga and butter. We’ll also be serving Hugo Spritz all day, made with elderflower and built for anyone who likes their Sunday drinks light, floral and a little too easy to reorder.

Bookings available online, with walk-ins always welcome.

The humble egg salad got an Elio’s upgrade 🍳

Eggs two-ways (a jammy soft boil, then diced and stirred through a herby mayo) along with pickled red onion and mixed leaves for crunch. All served on a lightly toasted brioche roll.

Might we suggest an egg salad sandwich to accompany your quiet contemplation and journaling.

A salty lil duo that takes you from day-to-night.

Fried potato and Bloody Mary’s are fast friends for a reason; equal parts savoury, salty and umami-forward. To wake up the senses (or relieve them after a late night) this is a power couple that’s not to be missed.

You know it, you love it, the shining star of our breakfast menu: the Kaiserschmarrn

Some mornings ask for something sweeter and this Austrian scrambled pancake, arrives torn and scrambled into soft and caramelised pieces and finished with blueberry compote and thick yoghurt.

Because sometimes breakfast should lean closer to dessert.
