The People’s Coffee – 440 Collins Street: The Next Chapter

In early March 2024, we took everything we built at 80 Collins and brought it here—to a bigger space, a new corner of the city, but the same unwavering energy.

440 Collins isn’t just our second store; it’s a statement. A place where we sent our best, where experience meets ambition, and where we get to do what we love on an even bigger scale. More space, more comfort, and the same coffee that keeps Melbourne moving.

Here, you can sit, stay a while, and soak it all in. And for the first time, we brought something new—our own merch, a piece of The People’s Coffee you can take with you.

This is where it all started. Before the name meant something, before the community grew, before the second and third stores—there was just this place, a team, and a vision.

80 Collins wasn’t just our first shop; it was the foundation. We opened our doors, pulled our first shots, and weathered lockdowns, empty streets, and the kind of days that make or break you. But we stood our ground.

What makes this place special isn’t just the coffee—it’s the people. The ones behind the bar and the ones in front of it. The conversations, the connections, the shared moments over something as simple as a great cup of coffee.

This is more than just where we began. It’s where we became.
