For Sale. Our light use Mahlkonig EK43 grinder. Espresso, filter cold drip etc. The TC EK 43 has outgrown available space and has to go.
Our EK is the most underutilised piece of equipment we have as our clients are well trained and have their own grinders. It would literally average 1kg per month- or less.
We need the space back, so it will be replaced by a small bag grinder which will also do pretty much nothing. A recent pulldown has the burrs unmarked and as new. I honestly could not detect any wear whatsoever. This grinder is genuinely as new.
RRP is a hefty $6.6k inc now for one of these, so here’s your opportunity to have that WBC winning grinder at under half price.

What’s the saying? “Brothers from a different” ….or was it sisters? Whatever it is, these two from ECM (Milan- as it was in those days) are special. The Giotto Premium we all know well. I love them!
On the right though is a super rare ECM Veneziano VS1 which is in for service. Australian examples can be counted on a hand and worldwide production has them in the tens. If machines are sexed, we recognise the Veneziano by its distinctive hips, as compared to the shoulders of the Giotto. For me, the Veneziano is every bit as iconic as the legendary Faema e-61.
I owned a VS1 once. It replaced a Giotto Premium. Why did I ever sell it?? 🤦♂️

Not all espresso machines go to SA to die.
Check out Ben’s beautiful Giotto EVO. It’s just celebrated its 10th birthday 🎂 and still looks brand new 🤩.
It’s so good to see a loved machine. Nice work Ben 👏👏👏

Evolution: My first HX espresso machine was an ECM Giotto Premium and it was a massive step up from a single boiler machine. I loved that machine and know that it’s still out there in service. The Giotto Premium marked the beginning of a 20+ year relationship with my friends at who are the importers of a number of wonderful brands including .
In recent times, competitors have arrived and departed and Rocket Espresso has evolved, but not much has changed with the Giotto in the last few years. It was possibly time to catch up- FAST- so it did.
On our demo bench for a couple of weeks from Friday (May 15) and with thanks to , will be the new Giotto Fast V. Come play. Even if it’s switched off and cold, the actively heated group will have your cup in your hand in under 12 minutes!
Now that’s what you call FAST! 🏁

It’s only been 3 years, but when our current website was born, it was the era when we were 😷 to walk down the street and 🤝 was an absolute no go. The website served a purpose but there were aspects you found irritating and a whole heap more that drove me nuts.
Next week a new era begins with a whole new way more friendly, flatter and far nicer website. I built this one without a web company (with Claude overseeing every aspect) and with you and me in mind. This is the website that addresses the “Why can’t I….” and “Why did you do that?” questions and has answered them. Because it’s 100% TC, I have control and can enhance it as needed and if stupid, frustrating 🪳appear, 🥾 them.
I am hoping the new TC will go live on May 13, so you might experience a brief interruption to regular service while it does.
I hope you like it and that it makes every aspect of interacting with TC online way more pleasurable.

I had the honour of meeting the incredible Phil this week and the man is a humble genius.
He will bring my vision of a new look for my beautiful Faema Urania to fruition in the not too distant future.
If you’re local, you have probably seen Phil’s beautiful work. I’m so excited!
