IDEA AWARDS

GENESIS has been shortlisted for the 2026 IDEA Awards in the Event category.

Staged for Melbourne Art Fair's inaugural FUTUREOBJEKT salon, GENESIS was our first collection comprised entirely of limited edition works: fifteen years of signature forms distilled into a suspended constellation of fire, stone and light.

Congratulations to all those who are shortlisted. It's an honour to be among such strong company.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this origin story into being. Thank you Australian Design Review for your ongoing support of Australian design. Thank you Melbourne Art Fair and FUTUREOBJEKT, we’ll see you in February 2027.

Over the next 24 hours, the sky is putting on a show. Three celestial events, each remarkable in its own right, converging within a single day.

TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
The Moon will completely cover the Sun along a path through northern Russia, Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain. Throughout much of Europe, parts of North America and northwest Africa, millions more will experience a partial eclipse.

SIX PLANETS AT DAWN
Mercury • Mars • Jupiter • Saturn • Uranus • Neptune
Six planets strung along the arc of the ecliptic in the pre-dawn sky. Mars and Saturn will be easily visible to the naked eye, with Mercury and Jupiter lower in the dawn light. Uranus and Neptune will need binoculars or a telescope.

PERSEID METEOR SHOWER
One of the year’s great meteor showers reaches its peak overnight into August 13.
A New Moon leaves the sky especially dark, creating ideal conditions for the Perseids to streak overhead.

Most of this spectacle will unfold across Northern Hemisphere skies.

Check a local sky guide for what’s visible in your region.

Wherever you are: take a moment to gaze up, as we have for millennia.

THE COLLECTOR’S EYE

Jeff and Mariko Provan have spent decades collecting the objects that speak to them most. Their Melbourne terrace is a living archive of instinct and curiosity.

INTO PLACE

The final moments before our lighting pieces become part of the architecture.

Many conversations, design decisions and weeks in the hands of our artisans lead here. But the work only becomes wholly itself when it arrives where it belongs.

HOLDING LIGHT

Recently, we invited a small group of guests to meet PETRA in its most elemental form: quartz slices, in hand, raised to the light. A means to encounter the material intimately, feeling its weight, watching translucency and colour shift from piece to piece, tracing veining that never repeats.

Every slice transmits light differently, because no two ever formed the same way. This variation is fundamental to PETRA. We intervene only where necessary, just enough to give the stone the setting it deserves.

EARTH AND EMBER

Pepperberry is a room of earth, curve and light.

Rammed earth walls, natural finishes and vaulted curves create a retreat that feels both contemporary and reassuringly ancient.

Set within it, PETRA I in smoky quartz becomes a continuation: raw, unprocessed stone, illuminated from within, softening into something closer to embers than electricity as the day fades.

BEACHSIDE RETREAT

PHASMIDA introduces an organic counterpoint to the home's orderly architectural rhythm.

Suspended within the open living & dining space, the pair establish sculptural focal points, their branching silhouette echoing the trees and coastline beyond.

DANGER & BEAUTY

The pitcher plant is nature at its most seductive. Sweet-scented, glistening, and lined with nectar. Insects follow the shine in. Few climb back out.

NEPENTHES follows the plant's logic. Hand-blown glass hangs soft and amorphous, inviting and alive with light. Solid brass tendrils hold it in suspension; hard, exact, geometric.

Danger dressed as beauty. Worked in brass and glass instead of leaf and nectar.

Named for the mythical potion said to dissolve all sorrow, NEPENTHES is nature's engineering, reclaimed for interior space.
