Beetroot tart - a trope that borders on cliché and something we don’t often bake at Patsy’s - but with the winter weather and the chance to serve earthy beets cooked under a Marsala and olive oil pastry - it’s a trope we could not resist - and it seems neither can our guests.

Winter is for Long lunches on the weekends - which is why we include a glass of wine as part of the seasonal menu…
The seasonal menu changes every day - our chefs think about what is best and how the dishes will tell the story of what is going on in our garden. Our garden team is always sending us unexpected surprises… such an inspirational way of creating a menu.
Of course wine is our other great love, this week we are pouring Mac Forbes Mourvèdre as the red glass as part of the lunch menu.
The white is for further afield actually from the hills around Venice - bookings are always welcome for lunch - however if the spirit takes you we always have some space set aside for walk in table
Yes we love Europe and its wine culture but also champion those growers in Australia who are giving us a taste of that continent in their uniquely antipodean style. Thanks Mac Forbes a great winter red and we are loving it.

Our current wine feature is from the McLaren Vale. The head wine maker Verity has a light touch but the wines are delicious and you can feel the intention behind that hand in the winery. As you would expect the vineyard is managed much like we manage our garden, lots of work on soil health and careful planning to help regenerate the vineyards biodiversity. You can certainly taste the hard work in the glass.
We are pouring a few of her wines and would love to share them with you.

Book the early table and let the evening unfold slowly.
From 5pm each day, Patsy’s apero hour offers a selection of drinks and snacks at gentler prices — the same thoughtful wines, careful cocktails and kitchen detail, simply poured a little earlier.
A civilized way to begin the night

Looking through some pictures to post today. Here is a little photo dump for our instagram friends.
1st image - this is a stem of celtuce - it’s a type of lettuce grown for the stem - we have some more in the ground at the farm and are looking forward to using it again.
2nd image - it feels like the end of the long summer of tomatoes as yesterday we pickled a huge amount of green ones that never got the chance to ripen, however here they are in all their red summer glory.
3rd image - some fabulous mushroom pate - almost impossible to see in this photograph but there is a scattering of pickled green walnuts on the top… we always pick the walnuts before they are ripe as our tree is so huge we cannot net it and that way you our guest can enjoy them rather than the birds.
4th picture is of the violetta eggplants the last of which we are serving in a savoury clafoutis this weekend.
5th image is our girella pasta…. This is coming off the menu in the next day or two as well as we move into full winter deliciousness, so for those fans out there come in tonight or tomorrow - last chance for a while.
6th image just a cosy table for two to make choosing to make a booking that much more attractive this weekend.
And the final image is Matt up the huge walnut tree gathering the green nuts for pickling..

This Mother’s Day, think about the vegetarian in your life.
At Patsy’s, vegetables take centre stage — considered, generous, and treated with care as is everything on the table.
A long lunch.
A beautiful room.
A glass always within reach.
Because Mother’s Day should feel effortless for everyone at the table.
