If we had to be a dish? The Iceberg Chop.

Yes, a salad. Stay with us.

‘Cause here at The Hardware Club, we’ve never been particularly interested in doing things the way you expect them. And our Iceberg Chop is no exception. Bold, indulgent, a little unexpected — and definitely not here to sit quietly on the side.

Still think it’s just a salad? Come and prove us wrong 🥬🥬🥬

This winter, these little guys are doing emotional support duties !

Sticky lamb skewer, creamy parmigiano potato purée, gremolata & pickled fennel.

We got a bit too obsessed with arrosticini lately…
so of course we had to make it a little more The Hardware Club.
Comfort food, but slightly overdressed.

YES they’re back!

Tradition says vitello tonnato.
Our tradition keeps serving you Brussels sprouts instead.

We love looking back — but looking forward and causing a little trouble is way more fun.

Your winter favourite is back:
Brussels sprouts, tuna-caper mayo, cumin & coriander spice mix.

What people say

The Hardware Club is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a casual Italian eatery in Melbourne. Located in the historic Hardware House building on Hardware Lane, this wine bar and Italian restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience. The warm afternoon early Winter light shining through the front bar creates a sublime atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying their delicious food and drinks. Their Rhum Baba, stored and drenched in rhum, is a must-try dessert that they usually give out after service alongside the amaro cart. The Spaghetti Assassina with charred yesterday’s sugo and mozzarella is another crowd favorite that has gained clout and notoriety. Their Iceberg “chop” Baggio&Sons salad with almond dressing, all-the-herbs pesto, and crispy seeds is also highly recommended. The restaurant's design references Trattoria’s of Verona, Milan, and Bologna first and foremost, making it both stylish and comfortable. The Chilli crab with fresh spaghetti, confit tomato, spiced pangrattato is another dish that you shouldn't miss out on. They even featured on Channel 9 Postcards last night with Shane Delia! Overall, The Hardware Club offers an exceptional dining experience that you won't forget anytime soon.
