Hailing from Newcastle, NSW, Laurien blends shoegaze, alt rock and emo into a sound that's both heavy and heartfelt.
Following a string of local shows and a growing reputation, the band are celebrating the release of their debut single ‘drawn & quartered’ which explores the internal struggles of becoming who you are whilst trying to remain true to who you’ve always been.
Catch Laurien as they make their Melbourne debut at The Gem Bar, joined by Seven Pounds Halo for a stacked afternoon.

This Friday night Naarm/Meanjin based Art Punk supergroup DVD are hitting The Gem stage to launch their 7 track Debut EP "Compact Disc".
It's DVD's first Naarm headline show and along for the ride is new speed punk outfit BALL (debut show) and guitar rockers Equestrian Fields.

Not only is Boris Black a Gem local and one of our favourite people in the whole world, he's also one badass mo********er! You might know him from Scientists and Beasts of Bourbon.
This Sunday he'll be hitting The Gem stage with Andrew Nunns and Nick Carver for a night of deep, fuzzy, dirty grooves; ecstatic, punctuating drums; and a roaring slide like you've never heard before. Topped off by lyrics that are brilliantly witty, highly observant and totally fun.
Boris will be joined by garage punk duo Digger and The Pussycats.

To reach the location on Wellington Street in Collingwood, you can take a train to the Collingwood Station and walk for about 5 minutes to reach the destination. Alternatively, you may use a tram and alight at Victoria Parade/Langridge St (Stop 19), then walk westward (along Langridge St) for about 2-3 minutes until reaching the destination.
If driving, you can park anywhere on Wellington street or find nearby public parking areas. However, please take note of any parking restrictions and fees.
